Tiana's Bayou Adventure took a big step towards its summer opening today as Walt Disney Imagineers took the first rides on the new Magic Kingdom attraction.

DisneyDrewDude captured one of the first logs taking the 50ft plunge.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure will open in the summer of 2024, but Disney has yet to announce a precise date.

The earliest and most optimistic estimates place a soft opening around Memorial Day (late May), which may put an official opening sometime in July. The upcoming D23 Down in New Orleans event on March 23 provides Disney with one of two opportunities to announce an opening date; the other is the Annual Shareholders meeting on April 3.

No it was near the briar patch when Splash opened. It didn't have a critter name though so it was just a random house.

just speculation so far,,,,I watched a splash video the other day and had forgotten just how much show space, depth and intricate detail was down there, it was incredible.....I just hope they didn't block off/fill all this in, and have actually used it in the same way in terms of the infrastructure of it.

I mentioned this a while ago (over 100 pages back), do we have any indication what song plays in the Laughin Place yet?

The logs don’t look changed to me, but the soak factor is determined by the weight of the log and the angle of the ‘scoop’ on the front. If they wanted to lessen the splash, they would’ve needed to lighten the logs somehow as well as sharpen the angle of the scoop to ‘push’ the water away from riders rather than towards them. Nothing obvious visually seems to have been done, but who knows, they may have sanded the logs to adjust the scoop or found a way to internally lighten them.

The logs were not changed

Does anyone think they might have tried to adjust the shape of the ride vehicles to lessen the soaking factor? I know nothing about this (am not a water log engineer and never played one on TV). I know only that log rides in general seem to vary in amount of water that hits riders. I’m hoping to ride Tiana’s later this year, but my wife and kids avoid water rides because they don’t like feeling soggy.

Would love to see this footage... hoping this means the water becomes lit up like that concept art
