'Backstage Tales' will open in March 2015 as a new tour to be offered at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Replacing the existing 'Backstage Safari' tour, 'Backstage Tales' will be a longer experience with a few changes and higher price. Guests aged 12 and above can take part at a cost of $90 plus tax.

The 3 hour 45 minute tour will take guests backstage for a look at animal housing, the nutrition center, and the veterinarian facilities.

You can continue to book the existing 'Backstage Safari' tour through to February 27 2015, with the new 'Backstage Tales' tour available from March 1 2015.

The tour is offered Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday at 8:30am and 1pm. Reservations can be made at 407-939-8687.

I find it interesting that the new tour is open to age 12 and up, while the old tour was for 16 and up. Interested to see what the detailed changes are and how exactly it has become more kid friendly (or perhaps less in depth/intellectual).

I wonder why they didn't go with Backstage Tails?

I guess the value of this tour varies on what a person is interested in. While I love DAK and seeing the animals that make up the park, I wouldn't pay $90/person to see the facilities, housing and nutrition center. To me, that's priced way too high to even consider. To some, maybe it's worth it.

Meh - you can see almost all of that from on stage though.

I'm not sure about most reasonably priced... I think the Behind the Seeds tour will forever hold that distinction.

Most reasonably priced tour - seems fun
