Disney's Hollywood Studios will host a special ticketed event on December 17 2015 to celebrate the opening of 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens.'

The event begins at the AMC Disney Springs theater at 7pm, with event attendees having a confirmed seat for one of the first few showings of the new Star Wars movie between 7pm and 8pm.

After the movie, the event moves to Disney's Hollywood Studios where guests will have access to the new Star Wars Launch Bay, Star Tours and a DJ Dance Party from 11pm through to 2am. At 12:45am there will be a preview of the new Star Wars fireworks show that will be opening as part of Season of the Force in 2016.

Tickets will be available later this evening at www.amctheatres.com/starwarswdw after the launch of the latest 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' trailer during halftime of Monday Night Football on ESPN October 19 1015.

I'm suprised they didn't just kill the lights. The ride is pretty amazing in the pitch black.

Proposal: If RNRC ever goes down for a refurb/re-theme, it still stays RNRC except without Aerosmith. Instead, you can choose from multiple artists like on the Rip Ride Rockit. And also like the Rockit, maybe you could choose secret tracks, and a Star Wars track like the one here could be added in.

I'm surprised how clean and fluid your videos are.. great video! question, how long will the spectacular stay? ( and the rest of the overlays) on DHS?

To be fair, it would appear that the speeder is taking you to a movie premiere and not to another planet.

The cross between Star Wars and Hollywood is just wrong. For a long term set up they'd need to change those fluorescent signs, some of which are huge, up for planets and other spacecraft. The donut can stay. Even SW characters like donuts.

It was nice to do for one night, but it really doest fit the theme of the ride at all. Space Mountain is at least set in space.

I am a little surprised they didn't switch RNR to the Star Wars theme for a few months, like they have done for Hyperspace Mountain in DL. But I guess part of that is that the concept of "Seasons of the Force" seem to have gone away for DHS.

I extremely enjoyed this version and glad they did it for the event. I hope they do this in the future but not often as the original is amazing.
