Kali River Rapids scheduled for 5 week refurbishment in the new year

Kali River Rapids at Disney's Animal Kingdom is scheduled to close for its annual refurbishment in early 2018.

The refurbishment is set to begin on January 2 through to February 9, reopening to guests on February 10 2018.

    My son always thought it could be overlayed with an Emperor's New Groove theme. He was bummed when I told him that the movie and Kali took place in two different hemispheres...

    No attraction on property needs to be reimagined and probably 're-engineered' more than Kali. A complete replacement of the ride segment should be considered. IMO.

    Everest has not had a refurb since opening correct? It should be one of the next attractions in the park to receive one with Pandora open right?

    Its been a complaint since it opened. You run the risk of getting completely soaked for a very short ride that feels incredibly incomplete. It is a huge bummer that this couldnt be much longer.

    Well, they could just close the gates and make you sit there in the channel with water washing over your raft for 2 minutes...

    are they adding another 2-3 minutes to the ride? if not then the refurb is a waste of time. and yes, i know they can't add more river to the ride. so i'm basically saying this ride kinda sux.
