Demolition is now underway at Primeval Whirl in Disney's Animal Kingdom.
The coaster is now mostly behind construction walls, and work is underway on removing some of the large scenery pieces.
One of the larger pieces has been removed from the top of the lift hill and is now laying on the ground.
A work permit was filed in late August for work on Primeval Whirl, with an expiration date of 4/29/2022. The permit has a vague description of "General Construction" and is being carried out by MLC Theming INC.
Disney announced in July 2020 that Primeval Whirl had permanently closed after almost a year of non-operation. The coaster has sat untouched since then, although the ride vehicles have been removed from the track and transported off-site.
