Bob Chapek has announced that the upcoming Star Wars land will be officially named "Star Wars Galaxy's Edge."

Disney is underlining the interactive and immersive nature of the land. An example might be that a successful flight on the Millennium Falcon may earn you credits to use in the land. Equally, a bad flight might get you onto trouble on your next trip in the Catina.

The new 14 acre land will open in 2019, first in Anaheim, and later at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Here's a thought, since it is near Toy Story Land, why not Star Wars: To Infinity and Beyond

Initials SW:OR already means something to SW fans.

That'll be the name of the main restrooms in the area.

I feel like "Star Wars : Outer Rim" is easier to say and fits better with the terminology used in the films.

You're right. It needs a case and a screen protector.

No one really uses full tiles or subtitles at all. Do people go around saying "Lets go to Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room" or do they just say "Lets go to the Tiki Room"? Same with Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I hear people shorten it to just Big Thunder, or Thunder Mountain all the time. People shorten titles for everything, that's how our language works.

They will then improve it and call it Galaxy Plus 1

I just can't help but feel like no one is actually going to call it "Galaxy's Edge". Just like no one calls Indy at Disneyland "Temple of the Forbidden Eye".

I think I'd prefer Galactic Edge. But no one really uses the term "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" either. It's as good as being known as Star Wars Land.
