Disney has shared more details on the new mural that is part of Tiana's Bayou Adventure, opening in late 2024 at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.

Hailing from Louisiana, artist Malaika Favorite has produced all-new artwork that will decorate the walls as part of the queue of Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Watch the video below to hear from Malaika.

Taking inspiration from the numerous murals and other works of art that decorate building exteriors throughout New Orleans, Princess Tiana's desire to adorn the location with art is in keeping with the spirit that artwork is to be enjoyed and accessed by everyone.

Continuing the storyline from "The Princess and the Frog," Malaika's mural for Tiana's Bayou Adventure features a collage of scenes displayed on two of the building's exterior walls as you enter the indoor queue. These scenes highlight Tiana's professional journey and the creation of Tiana's Foods. When Tiana was young, her father made her promise to "never, ever lose sight of what is really important," and the mural will reflect those elements: family, friends, food, music, art, and bringing folks together.

Carmen Smith, Senior Vice President, Creative Development - Product/Content & Inclusive Strategies said, "I am humbled by the level of research and detail Walt Disney Imagineering has paid to bringing the authenticity of New Orleans to Disney parks and resorts to immerse guests in this empowering tale. When you visit Tiana's Bayou Adventure, we want you to feel like you have truly stepped foot inside the next chapter of "The Princess and the Frog" in a way only Disney can bring to life."

I think it broke and either they didn't want to spend the money to fix it, or laid off the institutional knowledge needed to fix it.

Yes, that detail/partial show scene was outstanding. I think it’s safe to say Disney, in its typical cautious and cowardly approach lately, found it too macabre for the masses. The detail was a bit creepy…..But I’ll take it!!

1) They were always broken. 2) They were a horrible addition to the attraction.

The ToT boiler room would like a word.

I actually stopped wearing mine for a time because I was wearing them 12-14 hours and they started sticking to my eyes.

I thought their song added so much atmosphere to that first cave. I miss them dearly. I also wish they went full blown and figured out how to make the animatronics they were testing actually work.

I’m worried about the air time on the drop drying out my contact lenses. Is their anything Disney can do about that?

Yes! Can be seen in this video:

Sure, but I don't think its fair to judge its merit based on the view of external visuals that have nothing to do with the actual attraction itself? I mean I don't tell people I love Expedition Everest because I can see Tower of Terror in the front row at the top.

The steam in the station is back up and running again. I was shocked myself.

I'm still annoyed that they removed the mermaids. Can someone explain to me why they did that.

It's about the little things. On it's own, it isn't that big of a deal, but when there are so many questionable changes made with this overhaul (changes that have nothing to do with the different character theme), it adds up.
