Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park at Walt Disney World is expected to reopen January 2 2022, although Disney is yet to confirm its reopening.
Blizzard Beach, the only water park currently operating at Disney World, was expected to have its final day of operation on December 25 2021 before closing for its annual refurbishment. This has now been pushed back to January 1 2022 to give Disney an operational water park prior to the reopening of Typhoon Lagoon.
Disney and originally planned to reopen Typhoon Lagoon in late December, but delays to the refurbishment have pushed that slightly back.
Disney is yet to make any official announcement on its plans to reopen Typhoon Lagoon.
Based on previous year's refurbishments, Blizzard Beach will reopen in the spring, with Disney World then likely to operate both water parks for the first time since reopening from the COVID-19 shutdown.
Both of Walt Disney World's water parks closed along with the rest of Walt Disney World in March 2020 due to COVID-19 and have remained closed despite the main four theme parks reopening. Blizzard Beach initially reopened on March 7 2021.
