Disney announced last week that part of the old Streets of America will live on as the Grand Avenue, and today we have a look at the new area from the air.

Most of the Grand Avenue will be facades as it was back in the Street of America days, but the old Writers Stop will become the Baseline Tap House. Representing the present-day Downtown Los Angeles, the new Grand Avenue area will showcase vintage office buildings and warehouses representing the different vibrant districts and cultures of the city.

Opening fall 2017, the Grand Avenue will also serve as a buffer between the rest of the park and the upcoming Star Wars Galaxy's Edge.

I turned right around and headed to the old one.

Yeah, I walked in after coming off of Star Tours and was surprised at how tiny it was. It's like they relocated the soon-to-be-replaced World Showcase Plaza bathrooms over to Grand Avenue. -Rob

Imagine my surprise when I went in the side towards GE and saw (I believe) 1 stall in the men's room. Seems weird that they didn't try to connect both ends.

That's a relief! ;)

Restrooms are now open.

Not yet, but the work has been brought down and now it’s just a few planters in front of the door instead of the miles of walls.

Have these opened yet?

This building is new

I'm a bit confused... Are they brand new bathrooms? Or are they simply building a new facade and entrance into the back side of the existing bathrooms? -Rob

Sign above the door is a stylized sign that says “Women” (Bc it’s the entrance to the Women’s restroom). Shady building next door is men’s.

Photo update as of Friday, November 8, 2019. The building's (a restroom) appearance is very much in the Grand Avenue style. The sign above the door is covered.

It wouldn't hurt. There is basically no transition now and even those who defend the integrity of MK lands and sightlines readily admit that that area is atrocious with regard to thematic integrity.
