Workers at Bongo's Cuban Cafe have been told that the restaurant will be closing later this year, although an official public announcement has not yet been made.
Employees familiar with the situation say there are plans to relocate the restaurant to the recently opened Margaritaville Resort.
The 550 seat restaurant owned by Gloria and Emilio Estefan is located on the West Side at Disney Springs and opened in 1997. This is one of the longest serving restaurants at Disney Springs that has not been renovated since the transition from Downtown Disney to Disney Springs.
A new restaurant is expected in place of Bongo's at Disney Springs, although no announcement has been made.
