Yesterday saw the opening of the Katsura Grill at Epcot's Japan Pavilion. This new counter service location is a completely rebuilt restaurant taking the place of the former Yakitori House. For anyone familiar with the old location, you will find the new restaurant retains much of the same menu as before, along with some new additions, including crispy panko-breaded chicken sandwich, and a cold ramen noodle dish with shredded crab stick in a sweet soy dressing. We tried the Chicken Cutlet Curry and the Teriyaki Chicken. Both were excellent, very fresh and with good flavor. Piricing is consistent with other counter service locations, as was the quanitity of food.
The building itself has been completely restored from top to bottom, and offers both indoor and outdoor seating with some beautiful decor. Set in the Katsura Gardens, the outdoor seating area is a particularly peaceful and relaxing place to dine.
A completely new addition for the area is a new bar, located in the building on the small lower level that was previously a gift shop. The bar offers a variety of drinks, including a selection of sakes.
You can check out the
new Katsura Grill restaurant menu here, along with the
menu for the bar.
Head to our photos below for a look around the area, including some shots inside the restaurant, and of the food.
