The life-size Gingerbread House is back for its 17th year at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort.

Created by Chef Erich Herbitschek and the team from the Grand Floridian bakery, it takes 2 months and more than 840 hours to produce.

The house is covered in 5089 gingerbread shingles, made from 1050lbs of honey, 800lbs of flour, 600lbs of chocolate, 600lbs of sugar, 140 pints of egg whites and 35lbs of spices.

The house offers a large range of treats to buy, ranging from the signature gingerbread, to truffle pops, cookies, chocolates and even gluten-free items.

The Grand Floridian's Gingerbread House will be on display November 19 2015 to January 1 2016, and is open daily from 10am to 10pm.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong: Was the gingerbread and chocolate horses merry-go-round was inside the Beach Club? Or one of the other near by resorts?

have noticed the same thing at Beach/Yacht, we even had a dining reservation there and barely got in.

Poly is lame.

If you don't have free parking you can always do the MK trick where you 'go to a resort' but use the u-turn by the Speedway/Hess then use the resort monorail at TTC to go to GF. All resorts are iffy when they move to that procedure. Did a christmas decor resort tour last year. Parked at GF no issue then used monorail for Contemporary and Poly. Then parked at WL, no issue. Parked at AK Lodge, no issue. Went to Beach/Yacht club and got denied because of this procedure. This time at GF there was the security guard then a CM manager in the booth in case of issues.

Personally, it's hard for me to beat the decor of GF and Wilderness lodge at christmas time.

We are trying to figure out where to stay for the holidays next year. Anyone have experience with either the Poly or the GF? Can't make up my mind!

Was not aware of that from last year. Saw some images on Google - looked nice! Hopefully they do something similar in the years ahead.

They have changed what they do there. Last year they had a gingerbread capital building inside the American Adventure rotunda.

Awesome! I'm looking forward to having another Florida Christmas.

I'm not sure that they still do this anymore - I don't think that it was there last year

thanks, what about parking at wilderness lodge, last year I think we parked there and then took the bus or boat to fort.
