The first of the new-look rooms at Disney's Pop Century Resort are now becoming available to guests.

@Lariael on reddit posted these photos of the new room decor. You can see more of the photos at imgur.

The room features two queen size beds, with one setup as a fold-down Murphy bed, which serves as a 2 seater table when folded up.

Along with a brand new look, Disney also appears to have addressed the need to charge devices - with a total of 9 outlets and 10 USB ports in the room. Technology has also been stepped up with the TV being wall mounted to free up more space beneath.

Here is a reminder of what the original room pre-refurbishment look like.

Yes definitely well designed. I wish they were a little less sterile but as someone who has stayed at Pop more than I would have liked - the new rooms are a definite improvement!

Stayed there my last trip in 2020 just before the shut down and had a really great time! No noise complaints and the room was in great shape.

The rooms are not the most luxurious, but they are by far the most user friendly hotel room I have stayed in the last 5 years

Thanks! Confusing sometimes when there are multiple threads open for the same topic

Are there any updates to this refurb? I just booked a room for early April and want to request one of the refurbed rooms, of course. I'm sure there's just a couple of buildings still under refurbishment at this stage.

Thank you so much. Have a magical day:)

The rooms look nice for a value resort. They need one accent wall with color. Even if a soft/ pale color

I believe Disney has stated that the project runs through April 2018 (which is end/pay date on the Notice of Commencement). However, if they continue to work at the snail's pace that they've been moving along at for the last ~6 months, we'll be lucky if they're finished by the end of 2018. I believe work began in early March and there are currently 2 (out of 10) buildings refurbished and back in inventory. A third building was rumored to be opening last week, but that hasn't happened yet. A small portion of a fourth building has just started the refurb process. I don't think the Gondola construction will have any affect on the refurbishment.

We were just there. We had a preferred room, and were told that none of the preferred rooms had been renovated. I did not notice any construction in the 60s

Does anyone have a timeframe on when all the rooms will be finished? I know the permit runs out in December. Does anyone have any updates on the date for completion of the project? I'm not sure if the gondola construction slowed it down ...Thank you :)

Yes they do. Many people just go on vacation so they can be miserable in a better climate.

We're booked for POP this time next year. Can't wait. Loved POP the last two visits we stayed there. Only place I'll ask for upper floors looking north (lake side) so you can see a good portion of illuminations.
