Downtown Disney Marketplace offers even more magical experiences for guests with the July opening of Once Upon a Toy, a 16,000-square-foot interactive superstore. The store will be filled with colorful displays and exclusive toys, including many Disney and Hasbro favorites. Children can enjoy an outside interactive play area.

A 16,000-square-foot toy store bursting with familiar favorites and creative new playthings from Disney and Hasbro is coming this summer to the Walt Disney World Resort. Designed as the ultimate place for kids to play, Once Upon a Toy will open its doors July 2002 at Downtown Disney Marketplace.

Inside, colorful kinetic displays dreamed up by Disney Imagineers and Hasbro designers will offer a dizzying selection of Disney and Hasbro toys, games and collectibles for all ages, including unique character items such as action figures, board games, construction sets, dolls and accessories. Outside, an interactive play area will offer still more fun.

Guests at Once Upon a Toy will be the first to discover brand new toys and games co-developed by Disney and Hasbro unavailable elsewhere. Toys will include a new version of the sleuthing game CLUE based on the beloved Haunted Mansion attraction; a Disney theme park edition of MONOPOLY, the world’s most popular board game; the new, exclusive MY DISNEY GIRL doll and accessories; and a special MR. POTATO HEAD featuring Disney-themed parts such as Mickey Mouse Ears and a Sorcerer’s Hat.

Once Upon a Toy also will feature cherished Hasbro favorites that have been creating smiles for decades -- everything from PLAY-DOH to a build-your-own construction station featuring MR. POTATO HEAD, LINCOLN LOGS and TINKERTOYS.

“Once Upon a Toy will be a wonderful destination for everyone who loves to play,” said Al Weiss, president of the Walt Disney World Resort. “I’m delighted to welcome our guests to this newest addition at Downtown Disney and look forward to the magic they’ll encounter.”

Alan G. Hassenfeld, Hasbro’s chairman and CEO, said, “Once Upon a Toy will offer visitors to Downtown Disney an incredibly unique play experience for ‘kids’ of all ages. Together with Disney, we are building a destination filled with great toys, games, imagination and fun.”
