Admiral Joe Fowler upper level refurbishment - August 12 2021
Posted: Thursday August 12, 2021 1:14pm ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

Work is underway on reconfiguring the upper level of the Magic Kingdom Ferry Boats.

The guest space next to the cockpit on the upper level on the Admiral Joe Fowler is now walled off.

Behind the wall, the railing has been moved from the edge of the boat towards the center.

It appears that guests will no longer be able to stand at the very front or rear of the boat.

While it isn't clear why the change is being made after so many years of service, it may be a result of a recent hard-dock involving the ferry boat in July of this year.

Given we see the full 2nd level load/unload stuff in progress now - It's safe to assume this was all underway well before the most recent hard dock incident.

Includes a croissant in the morning and an evening cupcake for the return journey 😀✌️

Do we really think this hasn't at least been considered by Chapek's Disney?

I’m guessing the driver blamed the hard dock on guests either distracting or blocking their visibility.

What was the incident (hard dock?). Did someone get injured? Never saw that article.

Once work is completed the Upper Deck will now be an up-charge which can be booked 6 months in advance ======joking

Well that's frustrating. That was one of the good spots to get out of the wind while still having a good view while crossing the lake.

because of the last 'incident' I suppose?
