'Walt the Dreamer' statue queue - December 5 2023
Posted: Tuesday December 5, 2023 11:30am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

One of the longest waits in EPCOT this morning is for a photo with the new 'Walt the Dreamer' statue.

Cast Members are advising guests that the queue length is around 60 minutes as of 11:30 am.

The queue winds through a series of switchbacks behind the statue at Dreamers Point, in the newly opened central core of EPCOT in World Celebration.

Surprisingly, there is no Disney PhotoPass photographer today, although that seems likely to change in the future.

Pressure washing will remove The rust and sunscreen stains. But the HAVE to plant trees to hide that black wall. It looks really bad IMHO

They mustve scared off the pressure washers, all of them are scared of pressure washing the new fragile part of the park 🙃

Eh. You get stains on all types of floor from potted plant pots. This just needs light scouring like a cast iron skillet. Maybe they're pressure-washer-shy at the moment.

Oh, now it's the W.C. Logo? wait, that abbreviation doesn't work well

Time to call Southern-Magnolias-R-Us again!

As to the blank wall of Communicore Hall, one would think that since it's already in cast previews, they're pretty much done, but adding some trees wouldn't be a tall order. It's even worse looking in person.

I can agree with the criticism of this. While I overall actually like World Celebration, I'm disappointed see all these issues so early on. Even more disappointed to see nothing being done about it.

They almost certainly would not have demolished the old Innoventions building if they weren't already in the middle of doing so when the pandemic hit and their plans changed. They tore it down to build the Festival Center that was cancelled; they weren't planning on rebuilding something similar.

Because people complained it smelled like a sewer there..Not sure if it improved much tho..

Thanks for sharing the photos. I don't understand the choice to frame out the screen that way and the banners look really out of place. The look doesn't go with the architecture.

It’s cute for a meet and greet area, but I wish Disney would stop trolling us with the dreamfinder references and actually do something about the state of the attraction. To me, this area feels like it just as easily could have been retrofitted into the old Innoventions building(s) as it’s basically just a big blank room, so not sure it was worth or needed 5 years of construction. Again like most projects of late, just kind of leaves you underwhelmed.
