Fun for what it is. Tommorowland Speedway will not thrill a teenager, or likely an 8 year old, but my 4 year old had the time of his life on this ride. He was able to "really drive" the car using "Disney Magic". We visited for 10 days in Feb/Mar, and this was easily his favorite ride, I'd say he rode it 20 times and is still talking about it 5 months later. So while I do agree with others who say the wait is a boring one, and the likelihood of a breakdown is high, for us we think it's a winner. Kids love driving a car themselves, and driving by Dumbo and other Magic Kingdom attractions is fun too. Plus it's an easy 4th fast pass, which helps avoid the long wait.
Well I never thought I would find something to write a negative review about at Disney. Man was I wrong. THE HORRIBLE SMELL from Tomorrowland Speedway was cause enough for a bad review, but combine that with a hot day and long line due to cars breaking down and you have a ride that needs to be removed. My son 10 wanted to ride the carts so we decided the 30 min wait was OK. 5 min into it my wife and daughter had to leave because the smell had triggered horrible headaches in both of them. Our 30 min wait turned into 105 min because of technical issues. Once in our car we had to stop because the car in front of us shut down and wouldn't restart. The steering wheel didn't work at all on our car so we just slammed back and forth on the rail all the way around the track. This may have been a good ride at one time but it is the worst thing Disney has to offer now.
Go Karts on their own rail that allow you to sort of steer back and forth and accelerate while being led around a path. I understand why this ride is still here, given it's history, but it is too slow moving and hard to use what limited control you have to be any fun. Your kids probably will enjoy the sensation of driving, though.
Tucked away in a small but comfortable location next to Space Mountain is the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway. Having survived in the Magic Kingdom since the 1970's, Indy Speedway is a simple but enjoyable ride. Queue- There really isn't much to say about the attraction's queue. You are mainly walking through an outdoor line with nothing to look at but some colorful umbrellas and Speedway facts. The theming is very simple but is not really an eyesore. 7.4/10 stars Ride- Like the queue the ride is a simple things that many people can enjoy. 8.6/10 stars Overall: 8.1/10 stars
