Unplanned maintenance is impacting restaurant operations at the Magic Kingdom areas resort.
Nearly all Disney operated quick service and table service restaurants now offer allergy-friendly menus - read on for details.
Grand Floridian Cafe is, by far, one of our favorite place for a quiet breakfast and terrific food. The eggs benedict w/key lime hollandaise sauce is my fav eggs bennie on Disney World property. They also offer huge mickey waffles (malted or multi grain) served with butter and syrup, but you can asked for strawberries and whipped cream instead :) The lobster eggs benedict was outstanding as well, as was the sirloin steak and eggs, ham and cheese omelette and sirloin steak and eggs. Being so close to the monorail, makes GFC easy to get to! Our service was wonderful, coffee very good! (even the decaf was good!) Also offering a full lunch and dinner menus, they're known for their surf and turf burger; butter poached lobster on a hamburger. I HIGHLY recommend GFC for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
My family just got back from a quick trip for the Christmas season and had our first and most likely LAST meal at the Grand Floridian Cafe. We were all very excited to try this place given the wonderful reviews and I have to say we were horribly disappointed. First the service was painfully SLOW. It took a solid 10 minutes after we were seated for dinner for our server to make her first appearance. Not a good start. We ordered our meals. I had the burger and ordered in medium, one of my daughters ordered the chicken breast, the other the pork chop, while my wife ordered the shrimp and grits. We had to ask for bread and our drink order was not correct when it was delivered to the table. The food finally arrived and my burger was horribly overcooked. My daughters pork chop was overcooked and rubbery. My wife shrimp and grits were bland, lacking any flavor at all. The only meal that was decent was the chicken. We were all exhausted from 3 long action filled days at the parks and didn't have the energy to complain. But suffice it to say we will NOT be returning to the Grand Floridian Cafe anytime soon
We had breakfast at GFC twice during our November, 2013 trip and LOVED it. We were seated promptly, and the staff could not have been more pleasant. I ordered the eggs benedict with key lime hollandaise and absolutely enjoyed it. Cooked perfectly. Other members of my family ordered the malted Mickey Waffle, Ham and Cheese Omelette, steak and eggs, the vanilla french toast and the American breakfast. Everyone enjoyed their meal, very much. It was not crowded at all, and very quiet and charming. We will definately be back!
The one time we stayed at Grand Floridian we were going looking for somewhere to eat the day we arrived, it was lunch time and we got a table for 10 without a wait or problem. The server was good and the prices were not bad considering we were at the most expensive resort. Everyone found something they liked to eat. We liked it so much we changed another reservation later in the week to eat here again. I think if you tried it you would like it, no characters so you can eat without a problem.
