Maybe i went on a off day service wise , but there was no excuse for the food we had . My ribs were jus about cooked with sauce just flung on .In my over 10 years of dining at wdw this wa the first restaurant i couldnt wait to get out of
Considering the pricing at the rest of WDW, this turned out to be a good deal. Largest menu selection we saw at WDW. I know it's not truly WDW but still, was nice to have more than 6-7 entrees to choose from. Food was just fantastic, perfectly cooked, just wonderful. The facility is a bit odd, there is a mcdonalds type place, a cafe, and fine dining all together in one building. We chose the cafe. Had to wait on refills for our drinks a couple times but other than that, this was quite good. One of the best values for the $$$ we saw at WDW. Entertaining deserts here too, just fun for the kids to eat.
I went here last fall without a reservation, but we were able to get a table in the bar area right away. All I have to say is you must get the Pumpkin Ravioli! 10 stars just for that.
Going into Wolfgang Puck Cafe, I knew it would be a restaurant that wouldn't directly relate to the same "atmosphere" that Disney portrays in most of their other restaurants. But when we entered, I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere has its own spin put into it, but it's one that is very family-friendly. One small gripe I did have was the seating space. The tables seemed too close together, and I almost felt a little cramped. However; the view was great! We were right next to the window, and had a great view of the waterfront (I believe facing the Boardwalk area, not sure though). Our waitress was attentive enough, nothing hugely special in that area. The menu I thought was a little limited, so I just ordered the pepperoni pizza. I also asked for it to not have the extra touchings like the sauteed mushrooms, and they were happy enough not to include them. The pizza itself was very good and very tasty, I really enjoyed it. At least one of the other members of my party didn't enjoy their meals that well, but I liked mine at least. For dessert; I think I had either the key lime pie or the white chocolate truffle cheesecake, don't remember which one. But I do remember the dessert being very tasty, and I liked it a lot. Overall; I consider Wolfgang Puck Cafe to be average, maybe a little too average for its own good. I think they could of improved in the areas of menu selection and placement of seating. But the food they do have is plentiful in portions and I think most people can enjoy it. One final note though; I think its placement in Downtown Disney West Side is the perfect area!
