After being closed since January 13, 2025, Astro Orbiter has reopened to guests today at Magic Kingdom. The My Disney Experience app now lists the attraction as operating with hours from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm today, June 27.

As of 10:00 am, the posted wait time is 5 minutes. The project included a full removal and rebuild of the ride system, reinstallation of themed planets, and weeks of system testing. Disney never formally announced a reopening date, making today’s return a welcome surprise for guests.

    Wait, Mononthingie never exaggerates/overtates.

Listen, this is cutting edge technology here. A ride with vehicles that spins along a central spine? That’s extremely complex engineering. I think we all need to cut WDW some slack. This isn’t a meet & greet!

    Are we sure?

So basically walk on. Gone are the days where you'd be waiting 30+ minutes for this.

It appears Astro Orbiter has reopened after the extended downtime over the past 3 days:

That's not how it works. They don't keep attractions closed because of the threat of inclement weather.

First the dumpster fire known as Tiana now this…after a 6+ month refurb, it lasts LESS than a month…I’d shake my head yet again, but I don’t want to go into concussion protocol for Disney…

They dont really work like that. Nothing else is weather closed at WDW right now.

You literally just posted that WDW is under a flood watch until 8pm tonight. Because of the previous issues, maybe they decided not worth the effort to open today with the incoming weather.

It may not be perfect, but Tomorrowland at night is still an awesome vibe with all of its kinetics. Disneyland’s is terrible in comparison.
