2022 Concept Art for EPCOT World Celebration
Posted: Thursday May 5, 2022 7:19am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

Disney has today released new concept art for the updated look for World Celebration and World Nature at EPCOT which most notably includes a new CommuniCore Hall building to stand on the former Communicore West site.

In these new renderings we get to see the EPCOT World Celebration Gardens and the new Festival building called CommuniCore Hall that replaces the originally planned elevated structure. Also part of this new building will be an indoor meet and greet location for Mickey and Friends, which is approximately in the same location at the old Character Spot.

The new art shows a lot of changes from the original concept released in August 2019 which you can see below.

CommuniCore Hall, a multi-use facility, and CommuniCore Plaza, an outdoor event space, will bring the park’s international festivals to the center of EPCOT. CommuniCore Plaza will have the flexibility to host intimate musical performances that extend out into the nearby gardens.

CommuniCore Hall will be a flexible exhibition and gallery space, offering a wide variety of experiences that highlight art, live music, food – complete with a demonstration kitchen – and more.

Disney says that the new CommuniCore Hall is "inspired by the original EPCOT aesthetic apparent throughout the park’s transformation, including the timeless triangular geometry most prominently featured in Spaceship Earth."

These new renderings below show more of the EPCOT Gardens that will be home to various festivals.

And here is how World Nature and Journey of Water will connect with World Celebration.

Yeah Encanto show is fine, but the DJ thing gotta go. It just pollutes the atmosphere vibe of Epcot. Calling it World Celebration isn’t an excuse. Just doesn’t belong.

We've been by it too in the past two weeks and if nothing else, it shows how management and WDI have no clue as to what the EPCOT is. They keep throwing darts at the board looking for something to land, but my goodness, the place is so disjointed. Rave Mickey is something to behold outside Communicore Hall. Or as my mom said (about Communicore) after she first went in, "This garbage isn't worthy of being in SeaWorld, let alone Disney." Yup. Rave+Lame=MKCOT. Great job, Bob!

I like the daytime Encanto show. It's Disney. And fun. And good music. But, I hereby condemn the Christian rock band that can't hit their notes and the late night Latino Pop DJ who's not even playing Christmas songs and whose music clashes with the SSE 'shows.' But far be it from me to criticize anything modern Disney does.

My parents and I hate this dumb party center thing. It really sinks in at night when you have the Epcot holiday loop playing by the planter but then you got the thump of bass coming from one side of the park. It actually sucks and worsens the area. And seeing CC Hall for the first was hilarious. They really could've refurbed half of the old CC West building and have a more exciting overhaul then this dumb thing there. And no, the egg table building still would've been much worse.

It's even worse in person.

Good god, that is awful. Not to mention, possibly causing epileptic seizures (something I am always aware of, since my sister has epilepsy). Reminds me of that ridiculous DJ they had at the MK. 🤢

Then they should be well-equipped to clean up my vomit.

Epcot is kinda like millennial daycare if you really think about it.

I also found one from April 23rd, with the lights on.

I found a picture from February with them on. Can't post it at the moment though.

Pretty sure these were turned off intentionally within like, two weeks of the plaza opening? A month at most maybe? The lighting made the statue look ominous and I don't think WDI liked that.

Those have been off for quite a while now.
