Disney has announced upcoming changes to its Fantasmic! Dining Packages at Hollywood Studios, set to take effect on August 29, 2024.

These packages, which offer guests reserved seating for the Fantasmic! show along with a meal at one of the park’s participating restaurants, will see adjustments in pricing and inclusions.

Notably, the new packages will include an entrée and dessert (no appetizer) at select full-service restaurants, one full buffet (where applicable), a non-alcoholic beverage, or an alcoholic beverage for guests 21 and older. The package currently includes an entrée and appetizer or dessert, along with a non-alcoholic beverage.

Across the board, adult prices have increased by $6, while children’s prices remain the same. For example, the adult price at 50’s Prime Time Cafe jumps from $54 to $60, and at The Hollywood Brown Derby, it goes from $77 to $83.

Making Reservations

Reservations for these dining packages can be made up to 60 days in advance, and given the popularity of Fantasmic!, securing a spot early is highly recommended. The dining packages are available on all Fantasmic! show days, and note that dining reservations do not guarantee specific seating for the show. Seating within the reserved section operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

Was going to go for for this for my next trip but have been put off now. And this is coming from someone who would have ordered alcohol with the meal anyway. Slightly off topic but if I arrive an hour in advance without this dining package I’ll still get a decent ish seat right?

Yes, and they always try to make it harder to do so. It’s up to the individual to decide once Disney has crossed a line. For me, that’s this, but as I said, it’s not really that hard to see Fantasmic anyway. I’m just disappointed every time they do something like this.

Thats always been the way to "beat the system" nothing new there

Yes and apps cost more. It’s pretty obvious why the switch was made. Assuming you actually order those.

Most restaurants have non alcoholic specialty options. Looking at the menus you can get pretty close to the amount without ordering alcohol.

Also, people, the old package allowed you to have an appetizer or dessert not both.

Honestly, don't see this as a bad trade off. I myself cannot drink due to a medical issue, but I would imagine this would be attractive to a large portion of the guests who visit the parks who do enjoy a drink, especially with a meal.
