Work continues at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on the new exterior mural for Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After at Sunset Showcase. Crews are now painting the word “VILLAINS” in bright yellow lettering across the dramatic purple and magenta backdrop.
The lettering is part of the villain-themed facade transformation that has taken shape over the past week. Sharp geometric lines radiating from a central point—evoking broken shards of glass—are now being complemented by the high-contrast yellow “VILLAINS” text.
In addition to the mural progress, the final visible piece of Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy has now been removed. The pole-mounted sign located near the entrance to the courtyard is no longer in place, fully clearing the area of references to the previous attraction.
Inside the courtyard, umbrellas have been installed throughout the space. These appear to be part of a shaded extended queue setup, indicating that Disney is expecting significant guest demand for Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After when it opens on May 27, 2025.
The new show will feature Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, Maleficent, and more in a live musical production set in the Magic Mirror’s mysterious realm. It includes original songs, theatrical effects, and an audience-driven finale where guests help decide which villain has been most unfairly treated.
