The large neon signs for The Great Movie Ride have been removed from the Chinese Theater at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The signs that hung on each side of the building are gone, with no trace of anything left behind.

The photo below shows the old signs.

The interior of the ride building has also been cleared, with work underway on the replacement - Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway.

I'm not a fan of the animation style, but for me, it's the best trackless ride in WDW.

It's an okay attraction. A good addition. But it's not groundbreaking or something that sits with you days after.

After spending more time looking back at Railway recently, I can confidently say that it's my favorite ride again. I figured that it would be appropriate to share those stories yesterday for its 5th birthday!

I find them charming. I love the shorts they feature in and I love this ride!

It also includes the creepy "new" Mickey and Minnie.

Not interested in anything about MMRR. Sorry, not sorry. It's a throwaway ADD-fest of an attraction which needlessly replaced a classic.

I really do love this ride. I still just wish it was an addition to the park and not a replacement for GMR.

MMRR celebrates its 5th anniversary today!

It seems that 2025 and 2026 are going to be used to do a lot of maintenance that's been desperately needed. With Epic pulling some of the crowds away (it'll certainly still be busy) and no new rides to advertise until 2027, it's a great time to do it!

Glad to see. It has be in absolutely awful condition for the past year, particularly the carpet. It was way beyond time.

Big thread bump – MMRR has been getting some love recently, via @Drew the Disney Dude Ride originally opened March 5, 2020, so its fifth anniversary is coming up in a few days.
