Coca-Cola x Star Wars Bottles

Walt Disney World is one of two locations offering exclusive Star Wars-themed Coca-Cola bottles as part of a new global collaboration between Disney and Coca-Cola. The “Coca-Cola x Star Wars: Refresh Your Galaxy” campaign gives fans a limited-time opportunity to collect character-branded cans and bottles, engage with an augmented reality experience, and share personalized Star Wars-style hologram messages.

The campaign is centered around fandom, storytelling, and a long-standing partnership between the two companies dating back to the opening of Disneyland in 1955. Now, the collaboration extends to Disney Parks around the world, with three exclusive designs only available at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort: Chewbacca, a First Order Stormtrooper, and The Mandalorian with Grogu.

“A cornerstone of Disney’s collaboration with Coca-Cola continues to be creating campaigns in honor of fans,” said Mindy Hamilton, SVP of Global Marketing Partnerships at The Walt Disney Company. “Star Wars is a powerful cultural force around the world… This custom campaign is for them and inspired by them.”

In total, 30 Star Wars characters will appear on cans and bottles—27 available in various global markets, and 3 exclusively at the Disney resorts in Florida and California. The character lineup includes a broad mix from across the saga, such as:

  • Original Taste: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Kylo Ren, Ahsoka Tano, Boba Fett, The Mandalorian, Queen Amidala, and others.
  • Zero Sugar: Darth Vader, Yoda, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Grogu, Rey, Chewbacca, and more.

In addition to collecting the bottles, fans can scan them (or select ads) to unlock a digital AR experience that lets them explore the character artwork in detail. The experience also includes the option to record a personal message that’s transformed into a Star Wars-style hologram for sharing.

“This collaboration is about more than just bringing together two iconic brands – it’s about celebrating the power of Star Wars fandom,” said Islam ElDessouky, Coca-Cola’s Global VP of Creative Strategy & Content.

At Walt Disney World, the exclusive Star Wars Coca-Cola bottles will be available starting in July. Guests should look for them at select food and beverage locations across the resort.

The campaign rollout spans North America, Latin America, Europe, Japan, and the Asia South Pacific region, but Disney’s parks offer the only way to collect the limited-edition Mandalorian, Stormtrooper, and Chewbacca designs in person.

I'm sure Disney gets a major break on the cost from Coke due to volume. Disney jacks the price up to "guests" Hate to think what these will cost. Worst thing to drink in the heat --all that sugar

Soft drink prices have went up globally over 35% since 2022. A 12 pack of Coke on average costs $8, whereas in 2020 they were averaging $4.25, which marks an increase of close to 100% in 5 years. Future outlook looks at an average price increase of 5% end over end for the foreseeable future. Disney is pretty much given coke products to sell at whatever prices they want. I'm guessing that the skim a pretty decent profit off of the product before coke gets theirs.

That’s how I interpreted it too.

Maybe I'm remembering things wrong, but as I recall Coca-Cola doesn't charge Disney for any of their products in order to maintain their exclusive product rights in the Parks. So if there are budget cuts here its on the Coca-Cola side not Disney. But it just sounds like this is a new collectable can/bottle, not a replacement for the thermal detonator ones in GE.

I feel like ThrillGeek is wrong a lot. I read both the Disney parks blog and the Star Wars blog and they made no mention of that.

Didn't they do this same gimmick when GE opened?

So it seems this is just a limited edition run?

How do you loose money on a bottle of soda you charge $6 for?

“Zero Sugar” should have only had villains on the cans/ bottles.

Ok,sounds like that article I saw was very wrong based on others I am seeing that are saying there are 30 designs in total, with 27 being available globally and three unique to Walt Disney World and Disneyland and they feature characters you can see in GE, which makes sense "Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort-exclusive characters will include The Mandalorian and Grogu (together), a First Order Stormtrooper, and Chewbacca."
