Boma - Flavors of Africa will reopen August 20 2021 at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge in its original buffet format.

Reservations begin August 18 2021 via My Disney Experience, phone or the Walt Disney World website. The restaurant will be open for breakfast 7:30am - 11am and dinner 5pm - 9:30pm.

Boma will return as a buffet, unlike other former Walt Disney World buffets that reopened as a modified family-style experience. Dinner menu items will include pork ribs, salmon, African-spiced strip loin, Durban rotisserie chicken, and lamb bobotie. Breakfast offerings include creamy pap, turkey bobotie, pancakes, waffles, deviled eggs with salmon, and freshly baked items from the Boma bakery.

Dined at BOMA last week.....excellent as always. This time i noticed they had a small sign above the dessert area noting that the famous 'Zebra Domes' may contain alcohol. Never knew this....is this why they taste so good..? ;) -

Ohana was my favorite restaurant from before. I haven't been back since 2018. I'm planning on going back to Disney next year and definitely want to go again.

OK, thanks. That doesn't sound too good. One of the reasons we stopped going was because we thought it was going downhill, but then after we skipped it, we missed it lol. I think 2016 was the last time we ate there. We booked a January trip and are bringing 2 first timers, who we want to show a good time, so we thought it might be nice to go again.

Well since this post they've reverted it back to what it was quite a bit. That said, I don't think it's quite what it once was - as they still cut corners in a lot of places (the chicken is cheap fatty chicken on the bone, the vegetables are gone in lieu of broccolini nobody eats, the shrimp is mush, etc). That said the wings, potstickers, noodles and steak are all very good.

Is 'Ohana not as good anymore since they changed it? It used to be our regular place, but I haven't been in a long time. Was thinking of going there for our next trip.

Thank you both!! We've stayed at AKL a handful of times but I guess we've only eaten at the Mara when needed.

I've tried looking for/at pics....does Boma overlook Savannah at all??

I've been for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was just okay - I was expecting there to be more unique options and they only really had a few. I wouldn't call it delicious. Dinner was great! The food was genuinely good and our service was great. The restaurant was so crowded and loud so it wasn't the best dining experience but the food itself was good.

I've eaten at Boma. We've wrapped some desserts off of the buffet and put in in one's pocketbook.

Restaurants know that people do this and build it into their pricing. It is not an issue unless you are getting ridiculous. Like, you can't bring in a bag full of Tupperware and load up on a full meal. But as someone who has worked in food for decades, most places really don't care if you take a banana or two.
