Starting this Monday, October 16th, Disney will launch a special interactive event on TikTok in celebration of Disney100.

Fans will be able to watch videos from across Disney's brands, create their own videos with Disney music and effects, play daily Disney trivia, and collect and trade "Character Cards" to win unique profile frames to express their fandom.

Disney will also become a TikTok Pulse Premiere publisher, allowing advertisers to deliver ads adjacent to Disney content TikTok's For You feed.

"For more than 100 years, Disney has been a leader in creative innovation and storytelling, so we are thrilled to continue that legacy with this first-of-its-kind experience on TikTok," says Asad Ayaz, Chief Brand Officer of The Walt Disney Company. "With over 240 billion views across Disney's portfolio of brands and experiences, TikTok has become a go-to destination for Disney fans to create, engage and connect around their favorite Disney films, shows, characters and experiences, so we're thrilled to partner with them as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the company."

The month-long event will be available in 24 global regions, with more than 48 Disney accounts participating. This vast representation showcases content spanning Disney's varied universe, from Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, ESPN, National Geographic, Disney Parks, and more.

Boasting over 150 million followers, Disney's TikTok accounts frequently release must-see content, such as sneak peeks from Disney parks or educational snippets from National Geographic.

In addition, TikTok is curating a special Disney100 Playlist featuring some of the most popular hits from the Disney catalog, including songs from Walt Disney Animation Studios classics such as Cinderella and The Lion King, in addition to the studio's upcoming feature film Wish, alongside hits from Pixar Animation Studios' Toy Story franchise and Disney Branded Television's High School Musical franchise, among others.

The way that's worded, it's sort of open to interpretation. Maybe in a really sneaky way, they're being perfectly honest. Like "you thought we couldn't do any less after you saw the WDW 50th anniversary? Hold our LeFou’s Brew and stand back! This will be unlike anything you've ever seen (or would want to) from us before!".

I rather enjoyed that commercial with all of the different characters.

If I didn’t know any better, I’d think there was never any real plan for this. And I definitely understand faking it ‘til you make it since I do that quite successfully at work, but this is embarrassing.

Wow! Now it's a celebration! and remember, they are "just getting started!"

A new Disney100 medallion was recently placed behind the hedges where the Mickey statue is.

Personally, I would’ve used that music for a special post-HEA fireworks tag. But that would cost money. It would also work for a post-HEA drone tag like DLP did. But, also. Money.

I saw Beauty and the Beast a few weeks ago and thought I'd at least see the "Human Again" scene added later, but it wasn't the version shown.

I would have gone to the theater a bunch of times if they rereleased some actually old movies. Double them up if they're too short, or pad time with behind the scenes stuff and retrospectives. That would have been cool and felt like we were celebrating a hundred years, but instead they went with a 90s-2010s lineup.

it got a chase bank style 100 sculpture in each park, that's about it. Its all sinking to a new low.

Much like the 50th, the 100th was over before it began. At least we had a proper 100th in 2001 with 4 new parades. To add, I don't consider Luminous to be part of this celebration since it's fall out and a patch job from the 50th debacle. So, what really did WDW get for it? I guess I shouldn't expect much since this company can't even staff Citrico's to run 7 days a week.

I remember the 35th Anniversary of Disneyland, and they had a gift giving machine that would randomly give guests prizes...and that was for 35 years... WDW's 50th didn't get anything like that... The 100th Anniversary should be celebrated with gratitude towards the guests and fans, and have frequent giveaways as part of the celebration... Even if it is just little things like immediate fast passes or trinkets... Every 100th person through the turnstiles could get a prize... or a Fastpass, or a ticket to feed into The Dream Machine like they did for Disneyland's 35th In general I think this past mess of a 50th complete with cancelled and dragging construction, price increases, and decreased quality has lost a lot of confidence in the company... The 100th needs to be a home run...or should be...

I re-read it and want to punch my screen because of the level of stupid being exhibited by their marketing department. Again. "Inept" is not even close to describing how bad their marketing is these days.
