According to a report from Puck News via Variety, Arthur Bochner, Chapek's chief of staff, is the next top-level Disney executive to leave the company following Chapek's dismissal.
Bochner, Vice President, Strategic Communications at The Walt Disney Company, was Chapek's speechwriter and was behind much of the messaging that came from Chapek during his time as CEO at Disney.
Given the close connection to Chapek, and the board's apparent disbelief at Chapek's recent Q3 earnings call performance which Bochner was part of, his departure does not come as a surprise.
Bochner is the second top executive to leave Disney since the arrival of Bob Iger as CEO. Kareem Daniel, a close ally of Chapek and chairman of Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution, was the first to go.
Chapek departed Disney in a surprise announcement late last Sunday, with former CEO Bob Iger returning to the company on a two-year contract.
