The guest room refurbishment project at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is now complete, with over 1,000 rooms refreshed to reflect the New Orleans-inspired theme of the resort.
Here’s what you’ll notice in the newly refurbished guest rooms:
- Interior Design: Rooms now feature bright, patterned fabrics and finishes inspired by French Quarter architecture. The color palette reflects the energy of New Orleans, with updated textures and design elements that feel more modern while staying on-theme.
- Character Artwork: New portraits of Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, Louis, and Charlotte from The Princess and the Frog are included in each room. The characters are shown in Mardi Gras attire, adding a layer of personality and park connection.
- Thematic Details: Guests will find small nods to Mardi Gras and jazz culture—like beads, musical instruments, and Tiana’s tiara—worked into the décor above the beds and in other room details.
- Bathrooms: The updated bathrooms now offer better storage, brighter lighting, and more functional counter space. These changes aim to help families move more easily through morning and evening routines.
In addition to the rooms, other parts of the resort have been updated:
- Doubloon Lagoon Pool Area: Surfaces have been refreshed, and the surrounding area features new decorative touches.
- Mardi Grogs Pool Bar: Now sports a cleaner, more open look with light blue accents, new tilework, and wrought iron touches that align with the rest of the resort’s New Orleans style.
“These updates bring our story to life in exciting new ways,” said Diane Petit, General Manager of Disney’s Port Orleans Resort. “Everything ties back to the charm and culture that our guests love.”
