Emporium Refurbishment - March 24, 2025
Posted: Monday March 24, 2025 9:11am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

A new phase of construction is underway at Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Emporium, with another section now closed behind construction walls. This latest closure once again blocks the popular shortcut through the Emporium to Adventureland.

The Disney Clothiers section of the Emporium is now isolated, with a construction wall fully blocking access to that area from the rest of the store. Guests looking to reach Disney Clothiers must exit the Emporium and use the exterior entrance along Main Street U.S.A.

To help with guest flow, a small roped-off section of the Main Street sidewalk has been designated for those moving between the open sections of the Emporium.

No timeline has been provided for the completion of this phase, but the ongoing floor replacement project continues to affect store navigation and available retail space. Guests should plan accordingly when visiting the Emporium during this refurbishment.

A Light Package Install(if there's is one)wouldn't be tied to any Referb I would think......

Could be. Still no light package install happening, unless it was never going to be something we would notice.

I knew I saw some Construction Walls still in there when I was watching Streams on Sat. Sure is a lot of referbs around MK.......Are these all related to Summer Crowds/Starlight???

Yeah, if the subfloor has to be significantly messed with before installation, sometimes grout and occasionally tile will crack within a few months due to settling, but not this quickly unless someone really messed up.

More likely an installation issue if that's the case.

I didn’t get pictures but some of the tile is already completely cracked. Must be some cheap tile they put in. Didn’t even last 2 weeks.

Great reason to have differentiated merch to spread out the shoppers

Exactly. This at least still has theming and feels appropriate. The Emporium just looks like any other boring sterile retail store. It is inexcusable and sadly, they seem intent on destroying the parks.

Great reason to reopen all the shuttered shops around the park

Aww, don't insult the CM's like that!
