Tiana's Bayou Adventure construction - March 26, 2024

Here is a latest look at construction progress on Tiana's Bayou Adventure in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.

The area is now looking mostly complete on the exterior, with only finishing touches now being worked on. Walt Disney Imagineers continue to make test rides, and new signage in the splash down area informs guests that it isn't quite ready for guests just yet.

Work continues on the paving in the queue space behind the Frontierland Station, but the area appears very close to completion.

The windows are blacked out at the former Briar Patch shop in preparation for the new merchandise offerings, which are still to be announced.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure will open in the summer of 2024, but Disney has yet to announce a precise date.

Widened path to enable Beyond Big Thunder? 👀

That is a nice brick wall. Perhaps the children can sit on it.

It’s a great opportunity to teach them to enjoy life’s simple pleasures as they stop to smell the beignets.

Would have been a great place to implement a play kitchen.

Missed opportunity with the playground. It would be nice for the little ones to have something at the princess themed attraction!

No playscape is planned AFAIK.

I believe there were pictures earlier in the thread - it's just an empty spot right now. If nothing's there now, I assume nothing will be there upon opening. Of course, some sort of prefab structure could also easily be installed there if need be.

What's been done to the Laughin' Place Playground spot? Anyone have latest deets and pics?

have you seen it in person yet? I haven’t and I’m wondering if I feel the same thing. I’m hoping in person it has more life to it - which I’m guessing it does. There are several elements that look nice - and a few that don’t (looks at banner and fence mural haha)

It makes me think how this current crew would bungle the queue of Expedition Everest - which I view as one of the very best queue's in all of the parks - were it a new attraction and they were tasked with the design.

It just doesn't have the "wow" factor to me, looking more like an overgrown hill than anything. But it is what it is, and at the end of the day I'll be glad to have a water ride option back, since WDW as a whole could always use more options for cooling off.
