The first family will join with Disney characters as part of the Train Station Welcome ceremonies that are held each morning as the park opens. The second of the military families will preside as Grand Marshals in "Share a Dream Come True," the float-filled, fun-filled parade that winds through the park and down Main Street, U.S.A. every afternoon.

For 31 little girls -- one each day in October -- it will be more than a dream as Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom recognizes the first-time DVD release of the motion picture "Cinderella" with Cinderella Honorary Princess of the Day.

Each day, an honorary princess will be chosen and will receive a Cinderella gown and tiara for the special occasion -- a ride in Cinderella's horse-drawn coach ahead of the 3 p.m. parade in an honorary princess procession. She will be accompanied by banner carriers, coachmen and Cinderella's adorable mice, Suzy and Perla.

The honorary princess will also be invited to a private meeting with Cinderella herself. And, of course, she will receive a copy of "Cinderella" on DVD.

"Cinderella" goes on sale Oct. 4 as a Buena Vista Home Entertainment two-disc Platinum Edition digitally restored DVD with bonus features and enhanced picture and sound. Unavailable in any form for almost 10 years, "Cinderella" is the sixth release in Disney's celebrated "Platinum Edition" line. 14 August 2004: Night of Joy

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Walt Disney World Resort has unveiled plans for an unprecedented Night of Joy in September 2004 that will showcase the biggest, most-decorated lineup of contemporary Christian music talent in the event's 22-year history.

The marquee includes 24 acts spread across three consecutive evenings Sept. 9-11 -- including a first-ever Thursday evening Night of Joy. The expansion to a third night follows early sellouts in recent years.

"The demand for wholesome family entertainment like that provided by Night of Joy increases every year," said Walt Disney World President Al Weiss. "So we are expanding our offerings -- and we hope our guests will enjoy the result."

The result is 24 acts that have amassed 174 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards and 21 Grammy Awards. The star-studded lineup features three-time artist-of-the-year Michael W. Smith, six-time artist-of-the-year Steven Curtis Chapman, two-time female vocalist-of-the-year winners CeCe Winans and Jaci Velasquez, king of contemporary gospel Kirk Franklin, three-time group-of-the-year Third Day, three-time group-of-the-year 4Him, and two-time group-of-the-year winners Jars of Clay and Point of Grace.

But that's not the half of this year's Night of Joy lineup. They are joined by 2004 new-artist-of-the-year and male-vocalist-of-the-year Jeremy Camp, Avalon, Rebecca St. James, Salvador, FFH, Mark Schultz, Skillet, Joy Williams, Stryper, 12 Stones, SONICFLOOd, downhere, Across the Sky, Jump 5 and Warren Barfield.

Here's how they will line up in the Magic Kingdom at Night of Joy:

Mark Schultz
Across the Sky

Friday, Sept. 10

Performances will take place at several stage locations between 7:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. each evening (following regular Magic Kingdom closing). Popular attractions will also be available for guests to enjoy during Night of Joy hours.

One-, two-, and three-night tickets are available. Guests can get tickets or more information by calling 407/W DISNEY or by visiting disneyworld.com/nightofjoy on the Internet. Advance tickets are $36.95 (plus tax) for one night, $59.95 (plus tax) for two nights and $79.95 (plus tax) for three nights. Tickets also are available at Florida locations of Family Christian Stores. One-day tickets on event days -- if available -- are $41.95. The event has been sold out in advance in recent years.

In addition, a special Disney's Dream Maker package combines admission to all three evenings of Night of Joy, hotel accommodations, and Ultimate Park Hopper ticket for admission to all four Walt Disney World theme parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon water parks, and more. Information and reservations are available by calling 407/W-DISNEY.

Seventeen of the 24 Night of Joy acts were nominated for Dove Awards in 2004, and six acts -- topped by Jeremy Camp -- were honored at the ceremonies April 28 in Nashville.

There were three recorded-song-of-the-year honors: Modern Rock to downhere for "Breaking Me Down," Inspirational to Avalon for "Everything To Me" and Contemporary Gospel to CeCe Winans for "Hallelujah Praise."

Album-of-the-year honorees included Third Day for Offerings II - All I Have to Give (Praise and Worship category) and Salvador for Con Poder (Spanish Language category).

Fully a third of this year's Night of Joy lineup is new to the event -- headed by Jeremy Camp. Others playing the Magic Kingdom for the first time are Across the Sky, Mark Schultz, FFH, Skillet, SONICFLOOd, Warren Barfield and 12 Stones. On the other side, Michael W. Smith is making his ninth appearance (equaling Petra for most Night of Joy appearances).

A total of 96 different acts have been showcased at Night of Joy since the event's inception in 1983. A hallmark of the event has been the musical diversity, and 2004 is no exception with Rock, Pop, Alternative, Gospel, Urban and Latin styles showcased. A combined audience of nearly 800,000 people has enjoyed the musical variety over the years.

19 April 2004: New Extra Magic Hour  schedule tests

Walt Disney World theme parks will test a varied Extra Magic Hour schedule from May 9-22 to include time in both the early morning and evening. (The Extra Magic Hour offering lets many on-property Guests enjoy particular theme parks for an extra morning hour before the participating park opens to other Guests.)

Many Guests utilizing the Extra Magic Hour offering have requested the opportunity to enjoy this benefit in the evening, as well in the morning hours.

The revised schedule will give Guests eight opportunities to enjoy the Extra Magic Hour each week (one hour prior to and as many as three hours after regularly scheduled park hours). Guests staying at Disney-owned-and-operated resorts, as well as those staying at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, or the Lake Buena Vista Hilton, may enjoy both the morning and evening Extra Magic Hours at no charge with valid theme park admission. Guests staying at Shades of Green may participate in the morning offering only.

Guests using single-day tickets must visit the theme park presenting the Extra Magic Hour on that day to enjoy the offering, while Guests using multi-day and park-hopping tickets may visit any Disney theme park during the day and still enjoy the evening Extra Magic Hour at the participating theme park.

The Extra Magic Hour schedule will be available at www.disneyworld.com on the Internet and in Guests' World Update publication.

Admittance: From May 9 through May 22, the Extra Magic Hour schedule will allow Guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resorts time in our Theme Parks in both the early morning and evening.

Morning Extra Magic Hour occurs one hour prior to regularly scheduled Park opening and Guests will need to present a valid Key to the World Card at the park's turnstiles.

Resort Guests wishing to enjoy Evening Extra Magic Hours should obtain a wristband at one of the following by presenting a valid Key to the World Card:

The schedule and available attractions for the Extra Magic Hours offering for May 9 through May 22 will be available to eligible Guests on a designated URL on disneyworld.com and in the World Update.

As we anticipate more Guests wishing to experience the evening Extra Magic Hours offering, we have planned additional time for Guests to enjoy certain attractions with a minimal wait time.

FASTPASS will be offered during the evening Extra Magic Hours as needed on certain attractions. Because of the reduced number of Guests in the park during the morning offerings, we do not offer FASTPASS during the morning offering.

No. This summer, the Magic Kingdom will be offering E-Ride Nights on certain dates.

9. Why are we only doing this for two weeks?

10. How are we communicating this change to eligible Guests?

Guests staying at a Disney-owned and operated resort will be notified by postcard before their arrival of this change to assist them with planning their stay, which will direct them to website with details of the offerings. The schedule and details of the offering will also be distributed to resort Guests with the World Update.

11. I have a dining reservation for breakfast in a theme park on a morning when they would have typically offered Extra Magic Hour, but won’t now because of this change? What do I do?

At this time, we have adjusted the Extra Magic Hour offering for a limited time from May 9 through May 22. We will share details about future offerings once we a decision has been made.

15. I know that most Magical Gatherings Guests are staying at a Disney resort. Will Magical Gatherings Guests who are already in a park, but are not staying at a Disney resort, be allowed to stay for the evening Extra Magic Hour?

During this test, all Magical Gathering Guests staying in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel that offers the Extra Magic Hours benefit will be eligible to stay in the evening Extra Magic Hour. Other Guests would not be eligible for this offering.

16. How will the park exit work for Guests who are not eligible to remain for the evening Extra Magic Hours?

Park exits will occur similar as they do today. Guests who are not eligible for the Extra Magic Hours benefit will be directed to the park exit upon park close. Locations near the entrance of each park, such as merchandise locations, will follow current closing procedures, which allow Guests some additional time beyond park close.

17. If the morning Extra Magic Hour changes, will resort Guests still be allowed to enter the park early if they arrive before the scheduled operating hours?
