Disney has filed a new Notice of Commencement (NOC), pointing to the start of Astro Orbiter’s reassembly at Magic Kingdom.
The permit carries the same description used during the removal phase earlier this year: “Provide labor, material and/or electrical for construction.” It is again assigned to Buena Vista Construction Company (BVCC).
This is the clearest sign yet that the refurbishment is moving into its next phase after months of inactivity on the elevated platform. The ride system was fully dismantled earlier in the year, and the large crane that assisted with the removal was taken off-site once that work was completed.
As large components are being brought back to the platform, the large crane will likely return to Tomorrowland in the coming weeks. Disney has not updated the projected reopening window, which remains summer 2025.
