Walt Disney Imagineering has released a new behind-the-scenes video offering an up-close look at the new ride vehicles for the reimagined Test Track at EPCOT. The video gives fans their first detailed look at the redesigned cars and shares insights from the team working on the project.

According to Imagineering, the updated vehicles feature a subtler, more refined design. The new look includes darker tones to help the cars blend more with the attraction’s updated environments. The design leans into the feel of a research and development prototype, aligning with the reimagined Test Track’s theme of exploring the innovation behind mobility.

What’s Changing on the Vehicles?

The fleet is undergoing a complete visual overhaul, which includes:

  • New seats
  • Updated paint
  • Full vehicle wraps
  • Redesigned interior graphics

The new vehicle design reflects the attraction’s shift away from the Chevrolet branding seen in Test Track 2.0, toward a broader partnership with General Motors, allowing the attraction to represent the full scope of GM’s innovation across multiple brands.

Watch the full behind-the-scenes video below for a closer look at the updated vehicles.

Then that’s a completely different story and welcome imo. I do think the competition is a good thing but I don’t think the comparisons to Epic and this, new costumes, and the new play areas is a good thing unless it’s a 1-1 I’ve seen many people express the faults with epic + their feelings it’s recency bias is going to fade fairly quickly which I don’t entirely disagree with

If anyone is comparing the TT refresh to EPIC that is of course wrong. The TT refresh on contract renewal is simply business as usual for Disney. I was thinking of more general comparisons.

Fans of Epic honestly ruined my hype for Epic by doing stupid stuff like this. 🙄 Well one of my reasons for hype

I actually don’t think this level of comparison is good for anyone. It’s ridiculous to say that everything is “an answer to Epic” and that desensitizes to true and good faith comparisons. Everyone knows it’s ridiculous to compare a brand new made from scratch E ticket headliner to not even the headliner of a park that is 20 years old. Compare. 2 new E tickets and people will actually take the merit of the convo

I see the TT refresh as a good thing. TT 2.0 was never my favorite, I liked the first version. The important thing is this refresh is happening because GM is sponsoring TT for another decade. Whatever we are getting in this refresh will be fine with me as it will not be the TRON version of TT. The only thing I worry about is if they try to “update” or “improve” the ride system and vehicles. If it ain’t broken don’t fix it.

It will never end. Universal Orlando and WDW will always be compared. It’s human nature. And this constant comparison/competition is good for the guest.

Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.

Considering they can’t even change the custodial costumes without sarcastic comments like “take that, Epic Universe!”, it’ll be a while.

It appears the lettering that remained above the entrance has been removed - photo from today: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54462432635_5336d745f6_k.jpg

And just wants to bring that "spirit of optimism" that the original brought to Test Track!

It's supposed to be inspired by it... Disney has today announced that Imagineers, along with teams from Chevrolet are reaching back into history for inspiration – from the original World of Motion – and bringing that spirit of optimism to the next iteration of the Test Track attraction at EPCOT.

    Yes...............well................ahh..................but..................the thing is.......................

They never said this was going to be WOM, it's going to be Test Track. and why are we comparing a 20 year old rides update to a brand new built E ticket ride in the last 5? Will the Epic Universe comparison end? What's next? A new Mickey Mouse meet & greet is compared to Wizarding Paris as a land?

I just hope they come up with something to make the section that was the no ABS/ABS demonstration in 1.0 make the motion make sense. Not that it really felt like you were skidding in 1.0. I don't think it is possible to actually simulate locked up wheels skidding when the vehicle is being driven by rolling wheels. I can't think of anything good for the first part. The second part they could install a traffic light at the beginning and end of the straight section and make it that you are drag racing when the light turns green and then have to stop when the second one is red down the road.
