The reimagining of Test Track at EPCOT has reached another visible milestone this week, as construction crews have removed most of the scaffolding from around the attraction’s new entry canopy. For the first time, guests can get a clear look at what will eventually serve as the redesigned entrance to one of EPCOT’s most popular attractions.
The sleek, curved structure replaces the former flat overhead canopy and sets the tone for the attraction’s updated look, which emphasizes innovation, research and development, and a more refined design language in line with the attraction’s upcoming relaunch. While the area is still an active construction zone, the canopy’s final form is now much easier to visualize.
Old Signage Still in Place, New Marquee Yet to Appear
Despite the progress on the entry structure, the previous Test Track signage still remains on the front of the building. A permit for signage installation has already been filed, but the new marquee has not yet been installed. It’s likely that the updated signage will reflect the attraction’s shift from Chevrolet-branded theming to a broader collaboration with General Motors.
Ride Testing Still Ongoing, But Infrequent
Guests walking by Test Track may still hear ride vehicles cycling, as test runs continue intermittently. However, the vehicles are not yet running on a regular schedule, and daytime testing remains sporadic. Disney has already given fans a first look at the newly updated ride vehicles in a behind-the-scenes video, revealing a darker, more subtle design with all-new paint, seating, and interior graphics.
Looking Ahead
Set to reopen in late summer 2025, the reimagined Test Track will feature new queue exhibits, reworked show scenes, and a renewed focus on customization, onboard technology, and the joy of driving.
