Walt Disney World is launching a slate of limited-time offerings this summer under the banner of Cool Kid Summer, running from May 27 through September 1, 2025. The season-long event brings new entertainment, activities, and savings for families with young kids across all four parks and select resorts.

EPCOT: GoofyCore at CommuniCore Hall

Beginning May 27, CommuniCore Hall will be transformed into GoofyCore, an immersive dance and game space hosted by Goofy. Expect:

  • DJ-led dance parties with a "goofy" twist.
  • Interactive games like Loopy Limbo and Parachutes' n' Pipsqueaks.
  • The area closes for setup starting May 12. CommuniCore Plaza and the Mickey & Friends meet and greet will remain open.
  • Nearby, Florida Fresh may serve items from the Farmer's Feast menu.

Disney's Animal Kingdom: Wilderness Fun and a Musical Finale

Over at Animal Kingdom, kids can explore nature, animals, and music through several new offerings:

  • Hands-on crafts at Rafiki's Planet Watch, focused on bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
  • Limited-time Wilderness Explorers badge available for completing summer activities.
  • Celebration Sing-Along at Discovery Island, with original songs and storytelling from a Dino Institute Intern.

Disney's Hollywood Studios: Animation Courtyard Activities and New Shows

Hollywood Studios will host Cool Kid Summer activities in Animation Courtyard, featuring:

  • Games, crafts, and roaming performers including magicians and jump rope artists.
  • Surprise character appearances throughout the day.
  • Indoor DJ dance party with Mickey Mouse and Disney Junior friends.

Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After – A theatrical show starring Cruella, Hook, and Maleficent.
The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure – A reimagined take on the animated film with new stage effects.

Magic Kingdom: Dance Zones and Summer Crafts

Magic Kingdom will host two themed zones this summer:

  • Big Top Bash in Storybook Circus: Dance party with Pluto, plus stilt walkers and jugglers.
  • Galactic Blast in Tomorrowland: DJ-led dance party with Stitch at Rockettower Plaza Stage, and an indoor craft at Merchant of Venus tied to the Disney-Pixar film Elio.

Later this summer, the new nighttime show Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away will debut, featuring characters from Encanto, Frozen, Coco, and more.

Does anyone know how often characters are roaming the parks or showing up at hotels?

Pretty sure it's the first time 2/3 of them have appeared publicly (not at an event of some kind) in many, many, years... Angel is the only one I can't be sure of.

Love this, even though I’m now really jealous. They need to do more things like this.

    Certainly.

Somehow this doesn't seem right... Goofy Snax sounds a bit safe..

You do realize that you can state an opinion and listening to the opinions of others and have a conversation about the similarities and differences without arguing, right?

Personally, while I may find some of it cringey (GoofyCore) I agree there should be more interactions like these. Playing a game with Rapunzel and Flynn is that “Disney Magic” many of us lament the loss of in recent years. I hope these unscheduled interactions continue.

Uhh...this is a forum...debate and disagreements will happen and will be voiced.

I took the argument “against” these things to be, “Okay, but what else? This should be the norm, not a special event.”

The problem is you’re running around the forums pushing back against people who have also made their choices simply because you don’t agree with them. Like has been said, not everyone is going to like everything. If you and your kids don’t like these offerings for the summer, that’s fine! But that does not give you or anyone else permission to bristle against anyone who doesn’t feel the same which is the route so many of you all have taken with this. It’s like you all are actively upset that children are enjoying themselves at Disney.

Because those other, more cramped parks aren’t the most attended theme park in the world and have a guest base primarily of locals rather than MK’s out of towners. You just can’t approach MK the same you do the others.

    Mr. SullivanJun 10, 2025

Really don’t know how people can look at this and not see it as an absolute positive. This kinda thing is gonna stick with those kids. May even be the highlight of some of them’s vacation. The continued pushback from people on here on all this stuff is genuinely confusing.

I hope at least some things rolled out for CKS stick around long term ... Feels like bringing back the type of thing that makes Disney special
