New 2025 Custodial Cast Member Costumes

Walt Disney World custodial cast members are now wearing newly redesigned costumes across the resort. The updated look, which blends functional upgrades with visual updates, is the latest result of a long-term effort by Disney Live Entertainment’s Costuming team to modernize cast wardrobes while incorporating cast feedback.

The new custodial costumes feature:

  • Moisture-wicking, sun-protective fabrics
  • Added stretch for flexibility on the job
  • Adjustable pant legs that cinch at the ankle
  • More pockets and functional details
  • Vibrant blue and white color scheme

Cast members participated in wear testing and design feedback sessions to help guide the process. According to Costume Designer Nicole, the goal was to create something “comfortable and confident” for those who create Disney magic every day.

While the look is new, the design retains a familiar element: the sweeping Mickey Mouse logo that has long been a staple of the custodial costume. Costume Development Manager Danielle said the team wanted to balance familiarity with something “new and exciting” that reflects the evolving needs of the role.

Other upgrades include a new hat, sourced from a women-owned vendor. The hat was chosen specifically for its adjustable fit, safety features, and compatibility with glasses and various hairstyles.

These new custodial outfits join over 893 costume designs already in circulation at Walt Disney World. With around 140 million garments in the costuming system, this update is part of a broader effort to support cast members through updated designs with better fit, comfort, and functionality.

More costume updates across other roles are expected to debut soon.

Yeah that hat should definitely have an embroidered Sweeper Mickey

    I apologize. I misunderstood.

As explained by myself and LarryZ, that is the concept art.

Then what are the ones on the left. They certainly aren't the old bottoms as they have the new shirt and aren't white.

The shorts on the right are the new, updated ones, as shown in the very first post of the thread.

I like the new ‘striped’ look and dash of color. I will admit however that the all white Custodial costumes were iconic to me…and I was always amazed at how Cast could keep those bleached white outfits so clean doing some of the work that they have to do. All a part of the Magic! 😉 -

Hmmm...I don't think so. The picture on the right was the concept that was released some time ago. Check out the beginning of this thread.

You have them flipped. The concept art is on the left in the post you quoted and the new, updated shorts are on the right.

Agree. The (bermuda) shorts the CM is wearing aren't his size, they're too loose (see how he had to tighten his belt), and too long.

Both shorts seem wrong to me. The original were much too long and the updated ones are much too tight.

A custodian friend of mine has already tried on the uniform and says he hates the not reall short shorts. "Feels like a swimsuit" he says.

Something happened between concept and execution to take a simple concept like shorts and make them uncomfortable...

Ah! I guess I was just remembering WDW and DL uniforms wrong. When Main Street operations at WDW started wearing red vests like DL I didn’t know which coast I was on! Haha
