Cold Snap at Walt Disney World Shuts Down Blizzard Beach Water Park

Disney's Blizzard Beach water park will be closed on Thursday, November 21, and Friday, November 22, 2024, because of a cold front across Central Florida and the Walt Disney World area.

The forecast for November 21 shows a high of 70°F with a low of 51°F, while November 22 is expected to be even cooler, with a high of 66°F and a low of 45°F. These temperatures fall below the comfort range for water park operations, prompting the temporary closure.

Blizzard Beach is scheduled to reopen on November 23, weather permitting. Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park is already closed for its annual refurbishment.

Great, I was planning on using the free perk on Thursday, hopefully since it’s supposed somewhat chilly it won’t be too busy?

This is why we need both parks open.

Blizzard Beach has reached a phased closure and is only accepting WDW resort guests at this time. The parking lot is also at capacity and guests are being redirected to park at DAK.

Great perk for check in days! Haha. That perk is a joke.

It's Blizzard beach --it's supposed to be cold --this is discrimination against the polar bear club(sarcasm)
