The Orlando Sentinel recently met with Dave Kesting, general manager of Epcot festivals, who revealed that Epcot's Odyssey will become a multi-use flex space.
The Odyssey originally opened alongside Epcot as a restaurant space, but has been closed for many years, while used on occasion for private events. In recent years, it has been home to seminars at the Festival of the Arts, and as a Craft Beer center at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival.
It now seems that this multi-purpose role will be the Odyssey's use going forward. A minor refurbishment of the building is underway, including replacing the black exterior glass with something a little more transparent to allow guests to see what's happening inside.
