Luminous the Symphony of Us made its debut this evening at EPCOT as the park's all-new daily nighttime spectacular.

The 16-minute show features two new original songs "Heartbeat Symphony" and "Beating of our Hearts," and new arrangements of Disney movie songs including:

  • "I See the Light" - Tangled
  • "You've Got a Friend in Me" - Toy Story
  • "You'll Be in My Heart" - Tarzan
  • "Proud Corazon" - Coco
  • "Friend Like Me" - Aladdin
  • "So Close" - Enchanted
  • "When She Loved Me"- Toy Story 2
  • "Remember Me" - Coco
  • "Into the Unknown" - Frozen 2

Luminous is the long-term replacement for Harmonious and follows the interim show EPCOT Forever.

    ‘See the Light’ would have been a 1000x better choice for “Love”. “Loss” was such a momentum breaker for me.

    I would not be disappointed if there was more than just one or two song swaps in the works.

    They have surprisingly grown on me. It gets the energy high. But, I do wish they would go with one, not both. Or, make it a bit broader of a medley with other songs. Having watched it quite a bit now, I actually think the main problems are: 1. Love 2. Narration The Loss section hits hard, but it's easily one of my favorites. The problem is the love song chosen is actually quite bittersweet. Plus it's almost too long. If it wasn't already used, combining it with See the Light would have been beautiful. With that, I know a surprising number of people love So Close. So, I would actually add something more upbeat about your personal journey or something (ala Go the Distance, Almost There, etc.) to build up, before Loss. And, from a show perspective, it's one of the few actual cut points you could do an add pretty easily (where the base and red fireworks create an intentional break). I also think a narration with the same story but written by a human vs. ChatGPT would go far...
