Pirates of the Caribbean marks its 50th anniversary at Walt Disney World today, and Cast Members celebrated the occasion with a group photo in front of the attraction.
Pirates of the Caribbean debuted at Florida's Magic Kingdom in 1973 and was one of the park's first major additions after its 1971 opening.
The Pirates of the Caribbean story will soon expand with a new lounge experience. Disney has previously said this first-of-its-kind experience will extend the story of Pirates of the Caribbean, and Imagineers are in the design process now, with more details coming in the future. Disney did reveal one small detail - the Barker Bird animatronic (pictured in the concept art) will make a welcome return.
