Everything Pop Shopping and Dining Food Court refurbishment - October 3 2024
Posted: Friday October 4, 2024 9:30am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

The Everything POP Food Court at Disney's Pop Century Resort has partially reopened this week as the refurbishment project continues.

Guests now have access to portions of the dining room and food court with a refreshed look.

One of the most noticeable changes is the removal of the original elaborate tile work, replaced by a simpler design. Despite the updated aesthetics, the overall layout remains essentially unchanged, with food stations located around the perimeter of the food court and registers lining one side.

Here is the original look that has now been removed.

A significant section of the dining room is still hidden behind construction scrims, with Disney projecting the work will continue through the end of November 2024.

During the refurbishment, access to the food court is limited to the exterior entrance near the pool area, as the main entrance inside the lobby is temporarily blocked. A temporary grab-and-go option is still available in the resort's arcade.

The open ceiling seems cheap and dirty to me

Was that floor in the first pic actual tile mosaic, or was it some kinda’ faux…? If it was actual tile mosaic, that musta’ taken forever to put down, especially with tryin’ to keep the right color combination rhythm going all the way through…!!! The new floor looks like 12”x12” standard flat-colored tiles, with stained bands of color…?

Are the coffee machines different?

YIKES. I’ve never been to Pop but this sign is one of the ugliest pieces of graphic design that my 44yo graphic designer’s eyes have ever seen. There’s tacky on purpose, while still intentionally designed, and then there’s this. It’s embarrassingly bad.

WondersOfLifeOct 04, 2024

I'm a bit neutral on it. Not as tacky/hard to look at. But a million times less interesting or thematic. It is what it is. Eh.

Yes this is much better. I am usually one to give Disney grief when they tone things down too much and make them too bland, but, wow, it was way too much before and this is visually much more appealing.

It’s certainly more of what comes to mind when I think “POP”! I always thought the old court looked like a really intense school cafeteria.

This is an improvement in my eyes. The original was very 90s.

I suppose I like it, very generic, empty and sterile though. I did just notice this though, the board outside still reads 'Classic Concoctions', that was the name of the cocktail bar located in the back of Everything Pop which closed in 2007(?) Was certainly boarded up on my 2008 trip. It's just seating there now.

Good on them, don’t want it to be too interesting.

Before After More Generic, but a lot easier on the eyes.

Yeah... This seems pretty uninspired. I like the mural with Mickey. But, this otherwise feels very, very generic. There are so many inspirations they could have used to make this really fun. (And the previous version was NOT my favorite by any stretch. It was way too much, so a redo - and even "scaling back" was welcomed.) It's just very colorful "meh" to me. It's "fine" but that's it. At least it's in line with the sad stripping out of Disney resort decor/theme as of late. So... consistency?
