Planet Hollywood invited us over to check out some of its latest food and drink at the all new Planet Hollywood Observatory in Disney Springs.
If you haven’t visited recently, Planet Hollywood at Disney Springs has been completely rebuilt into the new Planet Hollywood Observatory.
One of our favorite changes is the addition of the outdoor terrace. When the weather is right, you can take in some waterside views and watch the world go by beneath you.
You will still find props and memorabilia from the movies in display cases throughout the multi-level restaurant.
The restaurant has a new exterior look, a brand new interior, and an all new menu. Celebrity Chef Guy Fieri has been brought in to bring some of his unique sandwich and burger creations to the menu.
Planet Hollywood Observatory has a big drink menu, offering everything from beers and wines to specialty cocktails. There are even some $27 45oz creations in a souvenir glass for the adventurous.
These are two of our favorites, The Observatory - Stoli Vodka, Limoncino Bottega, Monin Peach Tea and Candoni Prosecco, and the Mercuriy Mule - New Amsterdam Vodka, Limoncino Bottega and Real ginger infused syrup. Both priced at $12
The appetizer menu is extensive, and ranges in price from $12 to $35. The pricing might sound on the high side, but the majority of the appetizers are sized to share, with some of them meant for four.
When it comes to entrees, our pick of the bunch is the Prime Time American Kobe Burger. One of the new Guy Fieri dishes, it is packed with flavor, and really well put together.
Costing $20, it features American-style kobe beef, smoked gouda, cheddar, caramelized onion jam, LTOP and donkey sauce on a garlic-buttered brioche bun.
You might be thinking that Planet Hollywood doesn’t offer much for those looking to eat lean, but one of the new entrees for the summer is a Grilled Mahi Mahi topped with tropical fruit salsa, served with house-made cilantro rice & green bean blend. It is a great option if you are looking to steer clear of the high calorie options.
The Turkey Pic-A-Nic sandwich is made of real in-house roasted turkey breast, none of that deli-meat that often ends up in these types of sandwiches. It is easily enough for two, and priced at $18, it is a good value option.
When it comes to desserts, a visit to Planet Hollywood Observatory is not complete without trying the Planet Meltdown. The dish arrives as a perfect chocolate sphere, and is melted table side by hot chocolate sauce.
Inside, it's full of chocolate goodness that should satisfy the chocoholic in anyone.
Planet Hollywood shakes are larger than life. The Strawberry Big Bang features a big slice of cake on the top, and even the glass is smothered in frosting and sprinkles.
Planet Hollywood has you covered for souvenirs, with two gift shops and two levels offering everything Planet Hollywood and some unique creations just for the Observatory.
Planet Hollywood Observatory is located in the heart of Disney Springs near to the Orange Parking garage. Operating hours are 11am to midnight Sunday through Thursday, and 11am to 1am Friday and Saturday.
