So I didn’t even try the Princess 10k or 1/2 because my hamstring was still hurting. Managed a slow 5k with my niece who was 38 weeks pregnant. Decided to give running through the castle another try and at the last minute I signed up for the 1/2 during marathon weekend. My plan is to find a local half in October and keep in shape over the holidays enough to do the half in January.

I’m a walker but not one of those “bad” walkers. Follow race etiquette and keep to the right unless I need to pass. Never walk more than two across. I’ve worked two years to get my pace to 15min. Walked the 1/2 at W&D with a couple stops and finished ahead of the balloon ladies. Had a goal to do a 1/2 marathon so that race checked it off my list. This princess weekend is going to be my one and only try at a challenge medal and getting a picture in front of the castle but last Monday I pulled my right hamstring. I’m devastated. At 65, double knee replacement and RA it’s just a lot for me to train for a 1/2 marathon. Maybe I’ll skip the 10k and try to hang in there long enough during the 1/2 to get through MK for my picture.

Unfortunately with the options to enter you find "never runners" in the higher corrals and end up having to work your way through them.

You are right. All races have problems with etiquette. I will say this: I struggled in the Marathon. I hit a wall around 21. I needed to walk. runDisney says to walk to the right, however, that felt weird as there were so many right turns/cloverleafs/etc and I wanted to yield "the shortest distance" to the runners so I chose to walk on the left/outside. The course was not crowded but I still wanted to yield to the runners. Give them the benefit. As far as Princess goes, I competed twice over the years with my sister. I do not like this weekend. The problem is the entitled bloggers, spoiled snots, princesses, etc that expect the World (and all of us) to cater to them. I overheard a lot of nastiness this weekend....lots of women putting other women down for their years in runDisney, or their times, or being faster than you, or staying at this level of Resort. Such a passive aggressive weekend. Welcome to Princess!

    That it is.

I find that running etiquette is out the door in a lot of races 😟

For me (as a runner NOT as a CM) there are too many "never runners" and running etiquette is WAY out the door. I spent more time weaving around walkers than I cared to. walkers are TO BE EXPECTED with rD weekends but Princess seems to have the most.

Back for our second go-round! My wife and I did the Princess Half Marathon last February, and while it was a definite challenge for us both, we absolutely loved it. So, we are back for our second round in 2025. My wife accomplished her goal of finishing the half last year, and that was enough for her, so she signed up for the 10k next year. I am signed up for the Fairytale Challenge so I'll be attempting the 10k and the Half this year. We have also convinced two good friends to the 10k, as well as my son, my daughter and my future son-in-law. I can't wait!

I did yoga this year on Monday and it was nice way to end the weekend. Having it in HS is stupid since its princess weekend.
