One of the most talked-about additions to this year’s EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays is the 8-foot-tall gingerbread version of Spaceship Earth.

Located in CommuniCore Hall, the gingerbread structure mirrors the detail of EPCOT’s iconic geodesic sphere. Nearly 1,000 individually cut gingerbread triangles were carefully assembled to replicate the look of the original. The numbers behind it are impressive: 240 pounds of honey dough, 55 pounds of dark chocolate, and 100 pounds of royal icing, all coming together to create the giant edible display. For an extra challenge, there are 11 hidden Mickeys tucked into the design, representing the World Showcase countries.

The gingerbread Spaceship Earth lights up and is synchronized using music from the first Disneyland holiday soundtrack from 1957 to a track called "Silver Trees." the three-minute show takes place every 30 minutes. Is this something the resort pays for or? Like who decides who gets what? I love how the condiment station is even decorated at this resort lol

Management choice I'm sure. A welcome one too.

CBR is the only resort that kept its quick service decor. The only thing they lost was the Sebastian’s Bistro decor

Somehow CBR is the most decorated thing on property

I suggested this to a friend of mine who works on LWTL, half jokingly, but about the only real addition they need is to put Santa hats on the various animals throughout the first part of the ride. See how long it takes people to notice.

Maybe the planter just needs hormone-replacement therapy.

The inappropriate jokes just write themselves... 😂

Well that ship has sailed unfortunately. There is no way they are going to rip up the center again to install all the infrastructure for any kind of water feature. Best hope is that some worthwhile addition is made to the planter.

The Ladyparts planter just needs to go and be replaced with something worthy of that spot. A smaller version of a FON would be great... The area needs some water... It feels dry and dead.

I originally thought that, too. I do think it needs something. (Though I think a kinetic Epcot logo in different materials would be better.) The area that really needs the decor are the planters south of the central garden. That area is totally dead! And, a lot more real estate to put things.

I did hear about that. Truly sad.
