That's awful they refused to refund you. runDisney needs to re-evaluate their "No Refund" policy in situations where runners have been adversely impacted by natural disasters like yours.

Oh wow, I am really sorry to hear that. Did you exchange emails with them or talk to them over the phone? I’m definitely not expecting anything if I’m not able to go, but was kind of hoping for maybe a guaranteed spot for next year’s race.

My house was devastated from Sandy back in Oct. 2012 and they did not issue a refund or grant me access to next year's event. I just lost out on all of the race money. I am still bitter when I think and dwell on it, especially as a 26yo young adult. Hope that you get something!

I thought you did. EXCELLENT! Love knowing we were in a corral together, and that you "get" runDisney.

Thanks for the response! Yeah I figured that there are a bunch of people flying to Orlando on Friday that are going to have their flights cancelled and no way to get there. I’m planning on driving, but the forecast where I live (Atlanta) is getting worse and I’m not going to take a chance . . . or leave my family behind in the storm. Edit - and yes, everyone can make fun of me when Atlanta completely shuts down over a couple of inches of snow. I grew up in Michigan and lived with it from November to March so I know how ridiculous it is.

I'd contact runDisney ASAP. You're not the only one in this situation. Surely they can provide some type of accommodation for those who cannot travel due to severe weather. What about SoCA residents who are running and facing 100 mph Santa Ana winds and uncontrollable wild fires?

Question for anyone who may know, what happens if you’re not able to travel to Orlando for the race because of a winter storm? I am not able to leave for Orlando until early Friday but there is an ice storm expected to hit before I am going to leave. Unfortunately, I can’t leave any earlier. I’m not expecting a refund, but is there a guaranteed entry for next year’s race or anything else? Thanks for any help.

My husband is running in the upcoming Marathon and we are a bit perplexed by his bib number this year. The last Disney marathon he ran a few years ago he was bib #XX. His proof of time for this race is faster than it was for that one and he ended up with a 100XX bib number this year. He was in the elite group for the Wine and Dine last year. Did they simply change the numbering this year?

@wdwmagic Steve, have you run any races before??

GOOD LUCK to everyone running this week and weekend! The way I have always approached it is that it is not a race. It is an event. Enjoy it!

Expo passes and bib numbers are out. We are nearly there!

Last year was my first Dopey. Few tips: 1.) Stick to your intervals 2.) Don’t try anything new on race day 3.) Never miss a water stop 4.) Walk the 5K 5.) Take the 10K and Half slower then normal You can do this
