Brooks Running has been named the official running shoe for the runDisney race series.

The multi-year partnership, announced today, will bring Disney-themed running shoes and official race apparel to future runDisney events, starting with the 2025 season.

This collaboration marks a major step for Brooks, a brand long established in the running world, as it combines their expertise in performance footwear with Disney. Runners participating in runDisney races will have access to shoes adorned with popular Disney characters, adding a bit of magic to their miles. Starting in 2026, Brooks will also design exclusive jackets for members of Club runDisney.

"This collaboration allows runners to marry their passion for the Disney brand with the creativity, technology and running industry expertise that is synonymous with Brooks,"" said runDisney Vice President Adam Ball. "We are already busy brainstorming on the many ways we can continue to elevate the Disney running experience for the thousands of recreational and dedicated runners who participate in our runDisney events every year."

For Brooks, this deal presents an opportunity to tap into a vast and passionate community of runners. Melanie Allen, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Brooks Running, described runDisney events as the perfect example of how running can create energy and camaraderie. "We can't wait to create more magic together for runners everywhere," she said.

The runDisney series, which includes race weekends at Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California, is one of the largest in the U.S., drawing over 170,000 participants annually. It features a variety of race formats from 5Ks to full marathons, along with challenge events, fitness expos, and family-friendly activities.

The Max? That shoe has a high heel & midsole stack height. Plus it's over an ounce heavier than the Ghost and 0.6 ounces heavier than the Glycerin 22.

I have heard some styles are supposed to end up online.

There was a leak of one style Brooks Ghost Max 2 in a Minnie theme. Very bold red with Minnie silhouette on the back.

I can’t wait to see what these look like, I have a closet full of old New Balance Disney shoes, unfortunately they’re all hard as a rock after years of use. I really hope these look good and end up on sale outside RunDisney expos.

So there is going to be a special disney brooks shoe?

The partnership was just announced in the late part of 2024. They were never going to get shoes ready for marathon weekend. I never expected it until later in 2025 which is what we’re getting. As for the Co-Op, they are going to want the vast majority of their merch on hand for the expo. Not having it at the Co-Op during the weekend doesn’t seem like a major issue when runners have to go to the expo but don’t have to go to Disney springs.

Good questions. The big drop should have been the EXPO.
