Disney Cruise Line has revealed new dates and details for the Disney Destiny, its latest ship, set to embark on its maiden voyage from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on November 20, 2025.

The four-night cruise will provide guests with a first look at the ship's features and include stops at both Disney Cruise Line's island destinations in The Bahamas—Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.

Following the maiden voyage, the Disney Destiny will continue with an inaugural season of four- and five-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean. Each cruise will feature a day at either Disney Castaway Cay or Disney Lookout Cay. Some itineraries will include stops at both islands, while select cruises will offer additional destinations such as Nassau, Bahamas, and Cozumel, Mexico.

Bookings for the Disney Destiny will open to the general public on September 12, 2024, with early access available for Disney Cruise Line Castaway Club members starting September 6, 2024.

The Disney Destiny will offer a variety of new experiences, including Cask and Cannon, a pirate-themed pub inspired by the "Pirates of the Caribbean" attractions at Disney Parks. This venue will feature an extensive menu of specialty and vintage rums, along with unique brews served straight from the barrel.

Other unique onboard offerings include:

  • Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King: A dining experience celebrating the music of Disney's "The Lion King."
  • "Disney Hercules": A Broadway-style show retelling the story of the popular Disney film.
  • De Vil's: A piano lounge themed around Cruella de Vil.
  • Edna Á La Mode Sweets: A confectionary inspired by Pixar's "The Incredibles."
  • The Sanctum: A lounge themed around Marvel's Doctor Strange and his mystical world.
  • The ship will also feature staterooms and suites with custom artwork of Disney characters, a new storyline aboard the AquaMouse water attraction, and tributes to Marvel superheroes.

I think it was a reference to Destiny's heroes and villains theme.

For me, Toy story the musical left something to be desired.

“Legendary spaces”…seems like something that should be annointed by the customers

Latest update on the Disney Destiny: Last week, the Disney Destiny completed another exciting construction milestone at Meyer Werft Shipyard when it touched water for the first time. The process, known as “float up,” began by filling the building dock with water from the Ems River in order to lift the Disney Destiny from the floor of the chamber. The ship was then guided to another position in the hall, where the team will begin testing different systems onboard, including the main engines. In the coming months, the shipyard team will continue to focus on building out the legendary interior spaces coming to the Disney Destiny.

Just booked the Destiny for next September! Super excited to see Hercules I wish they would have gone with Tangled! I love that show (however, I also wish they could have brought back Villains Tonight)

Disney Cruise Line says the final blocks of the Disney Destiny were put into place in late 2024 and the ship’s exterior is now structurally complete and outfitting work has begun on the interior. Here's a timelapse video showing construction footage:

I think both are good choices, though I would give the edge to the music in Mulan, I’m excited for Hercules. I wonder if Mulan will be more prominent on the ships based in Asia? I like both— would prefer Tangled, but I’m sure Frozen is just the more popular franchise still. They really should put in Hygge from the original Broadway run— one of the catchiest Disney songs ever…but not super family friendly. I think this is my biggest complaint— it doesn’t make sense with the Heroes and Villains theme, even Hyperspace Lounge would be (slightly) better with its various planets and drinks themed to Sith. They could even add a Mandalorian element and cross promote their IP. 😛
