New Year's Eve operating hours extended at Walt Disney World

In the latest operating hours calendar update today, Disney has extended the hours for three Walt Disney World theme parks on New Year's Eve.

Magic Kingdom will be open from 8 am to 1 am on December 31, 2023

On December 31, 2023, Magic Kingdom will now be open from 8 am to 1 am, Disney's Animal Kingdom from 8 am to 8 pm, and Disney's Hollywood Studios from 8:30 am to 12 am. EPCOT remains unchanged, with hours from 9 am to 1 am.

This latest update adds 2 hours of extra park time to Magic Kingdom and Disney's Animal Kingdom, while Disney's Hollywood Studios has gained 30 minutes in the morning.

As a reminder, guests staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel can enter the park 30 minutes before the regular park opening.

EPCOT will be open until 1 an on New Year's Eve

DHS has extremely limited firework viewing and would be over-run if they marketed a one-night-only spectacular. They’d like for us to go to MK or, ideally, Epcot on NYE.

They have been using the World Dr. launch sites exclusively for NYE with some high shells and pyro the last couple years, although it's never advertised anywhere and they keep it low-key for some reason.

They also added two fantastic showings in that update. It’s ridiculous that they wait till so close and people plan out their plans then make sure big updates, especially with animal kingdom going from 6pm to 8pm is a major change
