Disney Vacation Club (DVC) is introducing a new optional enhancement for its members called the Membership Magic Beyond program.

Launching on December 3, 2024, eligible members can opt into the package for $99, which will unlock exclusive perks and benefits that can be used from January 12 through December 31, 2025. This new offering aims to provide additional ways for DVC members to maximize their stays across Disney destinations, although the program remains entirely optional.

One of the key highlights of Membership Magic Beyond is access to specially-priced theme park tickets. Members and up to seven family members in their household can purchase 5-day weekday Walt Disney World tickets, which include one water park visit, as well as 3-day weekday Disneyland Resort tickets that come with Lightning Lane Multi Pass access. Full pricing details for these tickets are expected to be released closer to the program's start.

Another benefit includes a 30-day Memory Maker entitlement at Walt Disney World, allowing members to capture and share photos and videos of their vacation—an offering valued at $210 if purchased separately. For members who enjoy spending time at the DVC lounges, the program also introduces exclusive meet-and-greet experiences with Disney characters at the ImaginAtrium Member Lounge at EPCOT. Members with a valid Resort reservation booked using DVC points can bring along guests to these exclusive experiences, subject to availability.

Additional lounge access perks include priority entry into the ImaginAtrium, the Star View Station at Disneyland, and a new Member lounge projected to open in Magic Kingdom in 2025. Members enrolled in the program will get priority on the waitlist when lounges become crowded.

Other perks include the ability to purchase the Disney Sorcerer Pass for access to Walt Disney World parks, along with the option to buy one bonus One-Time-Use Point for each One-Time-Use Point purchased, effectively doubling the points available for the year. Members can purchase up to 12 One-Time-Use Points per year with this benefit. Additionally, the standard $95 transaction fee is waived for booking stays at Disney Collection Resorts and other special experiences, including Adventures by Disney and Disney Cruise Line.

Let's be honest- anyone who has bought direct in the past 5 years have been suckers as the math simply never worked out no matter how many contortions someone put themselves into. So they're just doubling down on those suckers. Those same suckers, who likely financed their purchase, will absolutely pay the $99 extra dollars to get their free cheese-its and 4oz cup of soda at MK. We'll see the stupidity of it, but the suckers will keep suckling to no avail. I've been renting my points for years now. Taking advantage of a moonlight magic on the way back from out of country and routing through MCO in the summer- that will be my first stay in 2-3 years. Because WDW, well... WDW blows. And the audacity to do this when their parks are going to have massive closures is quite Disney.

And in 2026 the lounge will be MMB only I guess.

The EPCOT lounge will have extended hours for MMB folks. Both before and after change the lounge will be open for 7 hours (10 to 5 instead of 11 to 6) for all direct members. It'll be interesting to see how many MBB people take advantage of this from 6-9 with that part of the park slower in the evening.

It looks like they have now changed the FAQ on the website The actual contractual language is as follows (From time to time seems pretty vague to me) Bonus Points on One-Time-Use Vacation Points Purchases: From time to time, Members enrolled in the Optional Benefit Program, will receive a bonus point for every one-time-use Vacation Point purchased (up to twelve (12) one-time-use Vacation Points) per Benefit Season (“Bonus Points”) in accordance with the following terms and conditions. Bonus Points can be issued and used in any Use Year the Member can actively book into. The price of one-time-use Vacation Points is determined by DVD, and the offering of Bonus Points may be adjusted at any time without notice, in its discretion. A maximum of twenty-four (24) Vacation Points (including one-time-use Vacation Points and Bonus Points) can be acquired by a Member per Benefit Season. To be eligible for Bonus Points, one-time-use Vacation Points can only be purchased by the Member enrolled in the Optional Benefit Program who must call Member Services at (800) 800-9800+ or (407) 566-3800+; purchase of one-time-use Vacation Points for this purpose cannot be made online or in-person. If the sale of one-time-use Vacation Points is limited or suspended, the availability of Bonus Points shall automatically be similarly limited or suspended. All other one-time-use Vacation Point restrictions apply, as noted in the following FAQ sheet – How to Use One-Time-Use Vacation Points | FAQ | Disney Vacation Club (go.com)

This is where I've landed. I think there is some decent value here, even great value depending on usage, but it's ridiculous that access is an upcharge beyond the upcharge that was buying direct. We should call by the absurd name that it is: Membership Magic Beyond Membership Extras

Indy_UKOct 17, 2024

They'll just double down on it being optional

KDM31091Oct 17, 2024

I know it won’t do anything, but going to email DVC with my dissatisfaction with this new nickel and dime product

hunter99Oct 17, 2024

This is why I sold my Disney direct contract I bought back in 2011, have been renting the points on my 2 resale contracts, and am now looking to sell them as well. DVC Has become too much nickel and diming of perks you really should be getting, no mattery how you get a contract, because you shelled out a lot of money to buy into it. Of course it follows suit of the whole company now. Overpriced product with crappy quality so there's that.

And this $99 will last a couple months, creeping up in price several times. It is very tiresome and literally has turned us off traveling to Florida. Now we use our points on stays in ireland, France, england and hopefully other countries in future..ya we pay the transfer fee but the value for us is there now over going to disney and worth every point we spend.

meggo819Oct 17, 2024

The website says “Get one bonus One-Time-Use Point for each One-Time-Use Point purchased!” That reads to me like getting two points for the price of one.

nickysOct 16, 2024

But I thought the blurb states you can still only buy 24 in a year?

KDM31091Oct 16, 2024

This honestly ticks me off, even though it's "only" $99. You've already given Disney many many thousands of dollars to be a DVC member. Now they want you to cough up even more for some priority access to soda and snacks that were supposed to be a perk of the membership? This is not cool, and for locals with an AP I see almost no benefit here. If it had dining discounts or merch discounts maybe. As it stands, just another money grab from Disney, as if ever increasing annual dues aren't enough. Where does it end? Only Magic Beyond members can have Moonlight Magic? Only Magic Beyond members get discounts? It's tiresome

PhonedaveOct 16, 2024

The FAQ makes it seem not as if it is a two for the price of one, but rather, buy one at the regular price and then have the option to buy an other at the regular price. long with the option to buy one bonus One-Time-Use Point for each One-Time-Use Point purchased, effectively doubling the points available for the year. (my emphasis)

DrdcmOct 16, 2024

Ok I’m not a dvc member… don’t you all already get special ticket discounts when discounts are available? Are they literally charging you to offer you discounts?
